The pictures are moving. In this, we are all in the same boat. We'll lose someone we love, almost more than ourselves. And sometimes, more! It will happen. If you live long enough in this old world! Ha! If you've ever lost a sibling, you would have taken their place. For a time anyway. Then we just get on with things it seems, and try to live.
For those who have had to deal with life this year, and will find themselves at Christmas time without the presence of loved ones, a heartfelt, blessings filled, Merry Christmas! Life is not for the faint of heart! It's chock full of knocks and bruises, and sometimes pain that you think will never go away. It does! And it makes us who remain all the better. I don't quite understand all of that, just yet. But I know that it's true. It's just got to be!paolo59

We lost my dad Edward almost 3 weeks ago at age 96. He was a WWII and Korean USAF vet, father of 5 and grandfather of 6. I only became close with him in the last 5 years. To the end, he knew everybody and knew where he was and what the deal with him was also. And he never lost his rock-crusher handshake.
I got a phone call on Saturday from a departed friend's son. His mom who was a close friend of me and my wife and others in my family died after a short battle with cancer. Her name was Paula. Her late husband was my stock car racing partner for years. I knew something was up when we didn't get an Xmas card from her... she's usually the first to send them out.
