Or whatever the next big-time MMO blizzard decides to push out before bothering playing another game?
Srs, haven't played WoW for about a year now, casually tried to pick up other multi-genre games here and there but couldn't even get into them long enough to get past the first few modes or levels there were. Is it because I'm just getting older and games don't have the same "wow"-appeal to me than when I was a kid? or is it because wow actually ruined every other game there is or ever will be?
I dont get why blizzard didnt plan out to push another big-time mmo after wows 10th year, seems like that would have been a good idea.
No other game has been able to replicate that "arena" feel that WoW got so right in BC, WotLK, and Cata for me which has just spoiled everything, thanks Blizzard.

My two cents....
I have heard "Titan" has since -more or less- been scrapped. I was really hoping that it was going to be World of StarCraft. IMO WoW is getting too old and it has had its best days. Not much left for it. I tried playing again a month ago and it was stupidly boring and easy. With zero boa's I could hit max level in a week or two and that is a true casual speed...not 6 hours a day casual either.
Anyways, IMO the next great MMO Blizz could release would be World of StarCraft. I imagine a game that tops WoW the way WoW topped everything else. A game where there isn't just one planet and start with two continents (like WoW did) but start with two or three planets. The sky is the limit. They have the ability to do it. The question is simply whether they do or not. Many people have complained that since Blizz has basically taken the route of sitting back and collecting huge money off the cash-cow game, innovation stopped and has really set the MMO world back several steps. I have read many good arguments on it. In the mean time, Blizz has made a fortune and really didn't have the cash incentive to keep innovating and such. People put so much time and money into WoW they just kept playing and paying. Now the MMO genre has suffered.
With that said, true or not....Blizz could really re-invent the entire genre all over again with a World of StarCraft MMO. The question is simply, "will they?" That will bowl down, in the end, to wheather they feel it is profitable to do so, or just keep collecting paychecks off of WoW. Wildstar may really push Blizz if it turns out to be popular. Also, if a game like Elder Scrolls Online some how sucks lots of money and subs from Blizz...that may be the kick in the pants they need. The problem is that sooo many people are so "WoW only" that it probably isn't going to happen. Every new game has negative reviews, 90% of which are "it aint WoW."
So...WoW 2 or perhaps WoStarcraft? We shall see. Time will tell if the Giant in the industry chooses to simply sit back and collect paychecks or if they start innovating again. Maybe...just maybe, if Wildstar and/or ESO hits big, it may just be the kick in the junk Blizz needs.

Well if WoW is getting outdated and doesn't have much time left won't they be forced to come up with something new anyways? I think it's been proven time and time again that WoW-killers are 99% dirt. But I wood chit my pants if WoW somehow managed to stay afloat for another decade.

This, the game that everyone loved really started to die after they sold to vindi or whatever crap company it was. Since then its been all about the money, nothing more. To be honest wow used to be good, but it was not the first or best MMO ever made. It was just the first to become very popular and accepted.
Personally I dont want to see another MMO from them.

Their won't be a wow2. activision/blizzard has already stated it would be hard to recreate anything close to what wow has achieved, especially how the dev industry has changed the past few years. Blizzard basically all-inned when they created wow. I have been playing since vanilla, and currently took a break after the last 2 xpacks, still kind of burnt on wow's gear treadmill.. not really looking to go back I am anticipating something new (after having been let down by multiple mmo's that were supposed wow killers).
If something new were to come out, it would have to be its own thing.. not copy what wow does, but submerse the players in an epic experience in a whole new and fun way like wow did when it first came out.
If anyone is interested www.wildstar-online.com looks like it could be fun.xboxlive - chillenword

WoW 2 would be just another boring game by this time.
They can't replicate anything they've done, thats not how this all works. Guess what the big game has been for the past 3 years or so, League of Legends.
MOBA games weren't a huge hit until this, it's all about trying something new, thinking outside the box. Subscription based games are a thing of the past, now its all microtransactions. They're testing this with Hearthstone and Diablo, they saw a failure with D3 but success with hearthstone (so far in my opinion at least)
Blizzard will come out with a new game but it will not be WoW 2, it'll be something new, but who knows of the quality anymore. We have been surprised both in good and bad ways with new games nowadays.
So no. I'm not waiting for WoW 2, although I am sad that I don't think any other game will ever give me the feels that WoW did the very first time I leveled my first toon to 60U.S. Navy

Titan has not been scrapped, Warlords of draenor will be wows last expansion like it or not. They have even said that they are training new people so that the old ones can move onto titan to begin development with that. Titan was scrapped the first time yes but it is not being scrapped completely they are just re-working it, since the production time of an mmorpg can range between 3 - 5 years.

Considering that as of Q3 of 2013 WOW still got active subscribers of 7.6M, then its far from over. Game play and engine might be old but reality is its hard for people to let go of it. I actually just stopped playing when D3 came out since I started from vanilla. Not even the latest MMOs reach like 1/4 of those figures.
