I've got the 2lbs Optimum Whey Protein that I order from BB.COM a couple of months ago. It doesn't say anything about the expiry date on the bottle but there is a sort of stamp on the lid which says 05 for the year if I read correctly. Obviously I already opened and have used the poweder a little so I'm not sure what the expirey date is NOW.

Unless it is exposed to extreme heat, it should be good for a very very long time. AnI guarantee you will finish the 2 lbs long before it expires.

as long as its dry and kept in a semi cool place(room temp) it should last at least a year prob. longer not sure. i have some mrp's that are a couple of years old and they still taste great.

in my experience, protein powders tend to start smelling sour after being open for a few months. that is why i'm not sure whether my next purchase is going to be a 5-6 pound container or a few 2 pound containers. can anyone else comment on that? do you think this may just be the brand that i have been using?

I had left a container at my girlfriend's house that had been used a few times when I would stay over. I eventually forgot about it being there and it must have been there for about 8-9months. When I finally remembered and checked it out the powder had turned into a foul sour smelling dust like substance. Needless to say I threw it out.
