Weighed in at 221. I'm ok with it since I'm resting while the spasm goes away. I'll be back at it in about a week after my out of town trip.

Great job so far! You can definitely start seeing your arms, chest, and back leaning out. It also looks like you've got some pretty good genetics for your back which is huge when trying to building that v shape down the line. Keep pushing brother!

Damn good progress man! I agree with ZR, you can see the arms, chest and back getting lean. Looks as if the love handles went down a little bit too. Specifically the third row of pics (back shot / arms at sides). Not sure if you see it or not, I can tell a difference between the pics. Looks like they're shrinking at a decent rate!
How tall are you again? Looks like you're gonna be a beast when you lean out...
Overall, great progress, keep it up!Total fat lost by following advice in stickies: ~100+ lbs.

Thanks for checking in guys, appreciate the comments...definitely motivated to hit it hard and diet right when I get back from my trip.
I get measured at 6'1 and 6'2, so I always go with 6'2 haha. I do feel like my back is responding fairly well for the relatively short amount of time I've focused on training it. I feel like a dumbass for not switching up how I trained after high school much earlier. Oh well, can't worry about the past. I'll be sure to check in on your guys progress when I'm back. Keep up the great work!
Edit: I had a cheat day on Saturday and I think it did wonders in just a short amount of time. It was the first cheat day for me since I started, and after the fact I figure I had about 4300 calories. I felt almost buzzed up after eating all of that.
I weighed in yesterday at 221, and today out of curiosity I checked the scale and weighed in at 219.6, after eating right around 2000 calories yesterday. First time I've been under 220 since early 2009.Last edited by OfficerJimLahey; 03-18-2014 at 03:36 PM.

Weighed in at 223.0 today. A little excess water weight is definitely worth the great time I had with some of my best friends for 4 days. Feeling all set to get back to it and back on track. Hope everyone is doing well!

Yea, I wouldn't worry about that little bit of weight too much. Sometimes its more important to have a good time and enjoy things outside of dieting and weight loss. I think I may consider having a weekend where I don't worry about calories or anything, maybe Ill plan one around a goal weight.
You're definitely making tracks on your progress, keep up the great work!
Also, if you didn't read it in my log, thanks for the ROM video. I really appreciate it!!Total fat lost by following advice in stickies: ~100+ lbs.

Haven't been posting as much, frustrated with the muscle spasm that won't quite go away. I'm struggling to not go workout, but have realized it may just set me back. The last time I tried lifting with this spasm I had some very intense pain in the middle of a rep, glad I didn't wreck myself. I'm staying on target with calories and macros. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it! Today was my first day back in the gym due to my back spasm, but I felt great and am feeling energized to get back to making progress. Opening day of baseball and feeling like making some progress, great day!

Got in some quality cardio last night. Long story short, did some celebrating at dinner yesterday. Had my friend drive me home, then he was supposed to bring me back later for my vehicle after I sobered up. I call a few times, no answer. Don't want my car towed, so I walked about 6 miles to the restaurant.
On a side note, lost my wallet along the way. The damn orange vest I wore had small pockets and it fell out. I get my car, backtrack looking for it and get pulled over as I was driving slow. Blew a .02 (knew I was fine to drive). Stayed out til 2:30 a.m. looking for it. Came home, got up at 7 am and looked for it. Found it in an intersection...of course nothing in it. At least I don't have to keep trying to look for it, all cards were cancelled last night and only have to replace a few IDs.
Hope everyone had a better Saturday night than I did.Baltimore Orioles

Thanks man! I've been feeling less than fully motivated the past week. I'm still getting some results on the scale and hitting the weights decently but could use a swift kick in the ass to get back in it 100%. I know I didn't do anything wrong but feel as if I let myself down or acted stupidly. I'm thinking I'll feel back to normal tomorrow and ready to get back at it. Thanks for checking in, greatly appreciated.
Hope everyone is doing well on their path to achieving their goals.Baltimore Orioles

Keep it up Jim! Looking good! I didn't see what your goal is but you're not far from being totally ripped. Stay focused brotha. For my motivation, the BEST motivation for me was printing out the fattest picture of myself and putting it on the fridge. Since we spend a lot of time in the kitchen, prepping food, making meals ect. it gives you a lot of time to see that picture and drop a BIG #### you to the old you.

Great post! I'll be doing that tomorrow and think it should be the solid kick I need. Much appreciated man, that post along with motivation and support from others has proven this log to be a great idea.
As far as a goal, I originally wanted to see how I looked/felt at 215. I'm thinking 205-210 will be a better spot to aim for. I had a fair workout in the gym at work today, but am sure tomorrow will be better.
I haven't been doing it along with weigh ins, but tomorrow morning I'm going to measure both my hips and waist. I believe my starting measurements were hips at 39.5 and waist at 37. Should have written it down but too late now.

Just pills for the back spasm, I'm going to stay out of the gym while it's still there. I'll still be counting calories while waiting for the spasm to go away. Not the best time to take a break from exercising but I'd rather it go away then continue to linger and flare up.

It's starting to feel like the spasm is going away. Should be back at it pretty soon. Not going to take any pictures for this month as I've been really limited with exercise. when I'm back at it I'll be going hard and getting results.
Weighed in at 216.6 today. Very small loss but with not lifting I've wanted to stay as close to maintenance as I could. Hope everyone is having a great day!Baltimore Orioles

I hit the gym yesterday for chest and shoulders. Wasn't the longest session ever but it felt good to be back at it, and I gave a solid effort. The spasm is back to bothering me a bit more, but I'm just going to be smart about it. Weighed in at 215.0 this morning. Still counting and eating between 1900-2000 calories/day.

Weighed in at 214.0 this morning. A bit surprised as my activity level is quite low as I'm being cautious with my back. It feels like it's almost back to normal by the way! Besides the low activity level I haven't lowered my calorie intake for a while and the last 2.5 pounds have come off in about a week, faster than in the beginning of this log. I'll take it but am wondering if I'll need to up calories in a week or so when I'm back to 100% in the gym.
Hope everyone has a great week and makes progress in their goals!Baltimore Orioles

I think I've figured out what keeps making me regress with my back after I get feeling better. I've been icing it while sitting on my couch, and I think it's time to replace it. After feeling better as I mentioned above, I went to feeling like crap again. The last two days I've been only in my recliner and if I keep feeling better at this rate I'll be back to 100% by Monday. Fingers crossed this is the case, I'm getting a bit desperate. I had a massage on Tuesday, which I normally do once/week, but this is my 2nd in two weeks...trying anything I can. I'm feeling pretty confident the couch is to blame. I have a bad habit of keeping things like a couch or bed as long as I can. Not worth it in some situations. Hope all is well with everyone, keep progressing!
