If true, that's a shame. I suspect the drop-off in interest could have something to do with the fact the Olympia title seems to belong to Phil Heath for as long as he wants it regardless of his shape or anyone else's. Don't get me wrong, I've always liked Phil's physique (though he's never looked better than he did at the 2010 Olympia imo and should've won that year - he was phenomenal and those pics are still my fave Heath pics) and I even like Phil as a person from what I can tell, but I just can not agree that he's so dominant as to win 7, 8 or 10 Olympias.
I only pay any attention now to see if Ramy wins. I mean just look at the guy - if that's not enough to beat Heath, nothing ever will be. And Ramy's not the only guy who's been better the last few years imo. It's gotten so bad, even Kai greene seems to have given up. I think the IFBB does the sport a lot of harm with these endless dynasties. By the time someone wins 6 or more olympias, they're being gifted wins and it kills interest, despite every such bodybuilder being a true great.
Just my 2 cents as a fan who's nowhere near as interested in pro bodybuilding as I used to be.
