    Question with Babylover's SS

How would one add Power Cleans to Babylover's version of SS? I Definitely prefer his to Rippetoe's but I still want to try Power Cleans and put them in his routine. Any ideas?

Here's routine for those who don't know:

    A
    Squat 3x5
    Bench 3x5
    Chip Up 15-20 reps
    BB Row 3x5
    Cable Row 3x8
    BB Curl 3x8
    Rear Delt Fly 3x8

    B
    Front Squat 3x5
    MP 3x5
    Deadlift 1x5
    Dips 15-20 reps
    Skullcrushers 3x8
    Stats:
    Weight: 186 lbs
    Squats: 290 x 5
    Bench: 170 x 5
    Deadlift: 319 x 5

Power clean is a complex lift which requers good technique and for beginners i dont think its a good idea for them to do them they will break their back i agree its the best exercise i have done but i had a friend who helped me with correcting the movement which is important

I'm pretty sure the original SS program allows you to swap power cleans for rows and vice versa so maybe swap out barbell rows for power cleans.

But I would honestly do the routine how it was made for a little while until you get the hang of lifting.

Whatever you can handle. And I believe Rows are more important than Power Cleans so I'll keep the BB Rows in and worry about PC's down the road

Lighter than your max, you shouldn't be busting a nut to lift the weight. You want to start lighter to make sure your form is right and to get your body accustomed to lifting. Also just do powercleans instead of barbell rows... your already doing cable rows. Or alternate them like other posters said. /thread
