Humans can manifest thought into reality. That is what separates us from the rest. Dolphins are quite smart though. We've recently discovered that they have their own language, and someday we might be able to talk to them once we can decipher it. Wrap your f*cking head around that! Animals are quite smart bro.

lol @ thinking humans are the pinnacle of evolution. it only seems like that because value the things we're good at and then when we reflect on ourselves we think 'oh wow we're so good at all the important things'.
FYI ants for example are styling all over us. do you have any idea how many fuarking ants there are in the world? Blue whales weigh over a 1000 times as much as humans. Cheetahs outrun us easily. If these organisms would hypothetically look at the human race, they would think they are better than we are.
edit: most animals would probably think we are fuarking retarded for spending so goddamn much time and money making something like the LHC btwStrength crew

There are. Chimps, gorillas use tools. Very simplistic tools but they use logic reasoning just like we do. and Dolphins and elephants are also very intelligent. Not that being intelligent is any proof of evolution. Evolution works via natural selection. Desirable/beneficial traits are passed on because of sexual selection.

Large brains are extremely demanding in terms of resources. Our brains consume e.40% of our daily calories. From an evolutionary standpoint, to invest in an organ that expensive is very big gamble. What's more, some animals ARE almost as intelligent as humans. Dolphins are a good example, they may be more human like than you think. When a human sees an animal in distress, we usually want to help that animal. Dolphins have been known to save humans who are drowning. Perhaps the reason they do not build civilizations like we do is because they lack prehensile hands.
That picture is not entirely representative of what happened. And there were tons of hominids that lived side by side for ages. We just happen to be the last of the hominids.
Thanks for the sources.S.T.E.M.

I can't believe what a retarded thread you made OP. Do you really think animals are dumb? Do you even understand the amazing process that it has taken the human race to get to this level of "intelligence" that you see today?
Part of it is that we are excellent communicators, because even an animal with high mental capacity cannot effectively pass that knowledge along to other without the correct form of communication (something primates are very good at). Because of this adaptation, we have been able to learn from the mistakes of those before as well as their advancements.
If you think that your personal intelligence would shine through in a situation where you did not have most of the things you know handed to you through various channels then you're quite delusional. You're just a large hairless ape that happens to live in a society that has worked most of your big problems out for you.

evolution is random, but those that evolve favorable traits that increase our chances of survival live to pass on their genes, thus keeping those traits alive.
"intelligence" is one feature humans evolved to better our chances of survival.
pistol shrimp evolved a hand cannon that compresses air, heating it close to the temp of the sun, to KO prey.
