one way to slow down the absorption of whey protein

Is it possible to slow down the rapid rate of whey protein absorption in the body by mixing olive oil or flaxeed oil in a drink mixed with whey protein powder?

why would u slow down whey protein ? just eat eggs if u dont want the quick absorption of whey, or casein when ur goin to sleep, whats the point of slowing down whey, its a supplement that is more expensive than food why ruin its most appreciable quality.

well, an MRP would be a fine example of why you would want to slow the adsorbtion, and actually, depending on what brand of protein, and where you purchase it, the whey can actually come out to be cheaper then some foods.

Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein and other WPC brands like this are actually cheaper than almost all foods if you go by price per gram of protein. You can also add Peanut Butter to a shake. Tastes a touch strange at first but now I like it.

Name me a food that is cheaper per gram of protein than Optimum Nutrition whey. I calculated it to be around 60 grams per dollar. Sometimes even more if you can find it for a bargain.

Tuna doesn't have 60 grams of protein per can, and it's more than one dollar.

Eggs usually have 6 grams of protein per egg, so 72 in a dozen. I think the dozens sell at about $2 per. Furthermore, if you consume the whole egg, you get 72 grams of fat in a carton as well.

Youve got to remember however the only good time for optimum other than an MRP will be post workout. Food you can absorb it at any time, although some are slower.

If other foods can slow down the absorption of proteins, then how do you expect companies to make timed released protein products??? Show me evidence that whey protein's absorption rate can be slowed down.

Taking anything with whey protein will slow absorption. Even taking maltodextrin will slow it down. Adding slower digesting carbs will slow it down even more and adding fat will really slow it down.

I'm assuming I can take my whey protein with milk when I wake up in the morning. THen take down some whey protein with WATER after my work out for the quickest absorption. Then before I go to sleep take some PM Protein.

Take cottage cheese, casein or fibre in order to slow down absorption of protein. This is preferable at night when you want to have a slow constant supply of protein to the muscles.

Post workout take dextrose for a quick glycogen hit, and as an effective delivery system for protein to the muscles.
