LOL, who is that guy who walked by and appeared to be checking you out after your first front squat set?
Front squats seem to be a real strength of yours. Form almost looks better than on back squats. I guess it's because more quads? Either way, pretty cool to watch.
And of course congrats on DL rep PR."The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."

Thanks so much wish!
That's one of my two training buddies! He's awesome. So definitely not a rando checking me out haha.
Aw thanks re front squats! I think I just like them a lot because I worked so hard to get them down. They are challenging and I like challenging!Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=158655833

Notes
-This bench day felt really good. Especially the rep outs. I am definitely better at being a workhorse, at slugging out reps at submaximal weights. According to a 1rm calculator, I should be at a 140lb 1RM on bench. HAH, not even close, so if there's anything to learn from this, guys, it's that the calculators are unreliable.
-Also can someone check my reps so that I'm not lying about how many I did? I can't count.Last edited by meimonsta; 08-15-2014 at 07:22 AM. Reason: can't count

I counted 16 for the first set in the video and 14 for the second.
Fun fact: women typically lift weights for higher reps at a higher % of 1RM (in other words, a woman might be able to do 6 reps at 90% of 1RM, whereas a man could do 3). It has to do with muscle fiber recruitment--I want to look up more studies on it, as it's interesting. So I'm not surprised that you have an easier time with reps like that."The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."

I counted again. Got 15 for the first rep out and 16 for the second. Pretty positive about the second one. (How many lifters does it take to count the reps in a set haha). Will edit.
And yes I believe that's true and I've definitely heard it before! So can't say I was surprised either. Probably has to do with type of muscle fiber. Super interesting, I agree.Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=158655833

AW, your gym buddy gave you a high five after your PR, that's awesome. How did you find a gym with so many good lifters?
Your form and speed on the 235 were amazingly solid, btw. Obviously the 242 was a bit of a grinder, but even then your knees didn't go in, well done."The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously."
