Not enough room in my cave, bruh. I mean, I'd have to insist that you hunt your own food, skin your kills, cut firewood, sow your own seeds, harvest your own crops, etc... As long as we're on the same page.....welcome to the cave.
However, if you anticipate lounging around, eating peyote, mushrooms and smoking the native plants.....we can't live together.
Oh, what a simple and accurate analogy of what gets lost in political discussions...........
When we bleed the "well-off" to the point that they're no longer that, who do we get income from? And if you take away the incentive for anyone to be wealthy, what happens then? It ain't rocket science. Stated at least, 3 times here; "The U.S. is traveling the very path that Rome did." (to be clear, my sentiments). We're a young country...and a new experiment in history. We've exceeded global expectations since our inception....and now, we want to listen to those who believe in ancient, failed policies of the globe's oldest...and failed... players? Yeah.....it's really happening....right before your eyes.
Do you believe in capitalism? If the answer is no, than you need to relocate to another country. Capitalism is probably the very thing that brought you here, if you're from another country (I'd hate to think that it was because family/friends told you that you could some here...and the dumb-ass Americans will actually pay for all your $hit ). And if you were born here and don't believe in it, please explain how the very concept propelled this fledgling country to lead the globe in economical success.
OMG, it's not Saturday, yet. I was never here. Gotta go...really...gone now..............

I'm not baiting.
Geek23ka is super-strong, always a lady, intelligent, and thoughtful. She hardly ever posts here, and yet she'd be an awesome contributor here.
Check out her journal. Look at her lifts.
And add to that, she's so supportive.
I don't give a hoot about your politics. I said what I mean: It's great to see geek23ka posting here.No drama: You know where we are.

But just think about this, K? You can work you ass off....create a business (spending ALL the money you've saved from earlier jobs...which were created from a guy who actually, made and saved money), and then just cruise by collecting $$$. Not....
Seriously, is the current generation that fckg stupid?

People: common sense has never changed....since the beginning of time. Some have it...others don't. But worse yet, some intentionally ignore it...and try to use it to their advantage. I continue to make it a life quest...to hunt down and rectify these human anomaly types. I like what I do....sometimes .

you guys are so sweet!
trickle down economics is a joke. i don't understand how this could even be up for debate. there is a chasm, ever-widening, between the rich and the poor. i think it's unfair and i think that a bought-and-paid-for government is to blame for much of the current economic ills.
i realise most of you disagree. i think you're a bunch of wide-eyed idealists.
those gifs have nothing to do with "rich" people starting businesses/offering jobs. they showcase something bigger: laws tilted to favor the (super) rich.
most people starting businesses/hiring people are *not* rich.
what i find fascinating here are all of the people who steadfastly support favoring the super weathy in law. it's unique to america in that the support is so widespread. i have read (and agree) that this has more to do with people who are struggling who see themselves as "temporarily" struggling, as they are oh-so-bootstrappy and will definitely strike it rich because they DESERVE it. unlike the "real" poor people who deserve their lot in life.
wide-eyed. optimistic. fool-hardly. narcisisstic.
there are also peeps who suffer the brunt of the current american tax system. i am included in this. people who aren't actually "rich" (those who earn less than 500k a year) but god damn if we don't pay a HUGE portion of our hard earned money to the gubbernment.
it's real easy to turn the tax-burdened people against the poor "taking away my money", despite all evidence to the contrary.
i am really mad at the right people IMO. the people who buy laws in order to get richer. i wish more people were pissed off about this. obama is bought, bush I and II were bought. clinton was DEFINITELY bought. congress and senate BOUGHT. they are only chess pieces moved on the board in order for the walton's and the koch's to get richer. warren buffet, who is SUPER ****ING RICH, as i am sure we all know, speaks out against this all the time. but since it doesn't jibe with the current cultural norm of POOR PEOPLE ARE TAKING MY MONEY, it's largely ignored.
the single most important thing anyone could support is getting rid of lobbying. the second most important thing would be to get rid of contributions larger than 1000 per person. gerrymandering is a close third.
but that's not as much fun as belittling poor people. so there you go.

when I started my first business, I lived in the supply room. I mean, LIVED there. I couldn't afford my apartment and pay my lease and operating costs, so I gave up to get ahead. Over the past 15 years I've gone from one tiny furniture store to 6. From me being the salesman, delivery boy, window washer, toilet scrubber, office biotch, and the receiving dept, to now employing over 50 ppl. and providing benefits. I do not consider myself "rich" but I am very comfortable and I got that way by working my ass off. No loan... No help... No debt. I will not hesitate to scrub the toilet or plug in a vacuum if it needs to be done... I have a solution to any employee who has an issue with their job or thinks its beneath them... Clock out and leave your time card.
Im not obligated to pick up the slack for those who do not want to sacrifice their time and risk failure to benefit their own future. The whole "entitlement" view from this generation has killed the future of the country. My grandfather told me once, "don't work... don't eat." I think we could thin the herd a bit.Its supposed to hurt, its an ass kickin!
