    Reverse Hypers

Ive watched the reverse hyper vids on youtube by louie, but I was hoping to get some opinions on actual usage. Strength gains aside its more for both myself for keeping a strong and healthy back and my father who has some lower back pain from years of a physical job. Does the distraction element of the motion really help with lower back health and pain?

    Thanks

    Any opinions would be awesome

    Wtf is a distraction element?

Bottom line: it lets you work the lower back muscles with no stress on the spine while allowing some decompression too. Definitely a wise investment if spinal pressure is a concern.

Reverse hypers are awesome for both lowerback health (makes it feel good) and for squat/deadlift assistance.

If you just want to make your lowerback feel good, then regular hyperextensions work too, do them for high reps (30-50), guarantee they will help.

Distraction is separation of the joint, so decompressing the fibrous discs

The reverse hyper I got was the best investment I've made in equipment so far. Use it every day. Use it multiple ways. Single leg, both legs, short strap, long strap, strict, semi strict, swing away, super high reps, lower reps... etc. It's help make my back feel so much better. I have degenerative disks, arthritis, bulging discs, upper neck fusing... basically spin is fuked and I've even lost just over an inch in height over the past few years. I can tell a big difference between when I don't use the rev. hyper and when I do after squatting or pulling.

Reverse hypers are great. Wishing I picked up one year's ago rather than more recently. Has absolutely helped my back.

I built a nice rack mounted one. Its only as sturdy as your rack though. I have a basic 2x2 that started moving a bit with heavier weight. It was perfect for recovery and higher reps. Have a video of it on my YouTubez and up in the stickies homemade equipment thread.

Personally, I will use mine for 50-100 reps everyday with 50-90lbs. Twice a week I will go up to 400-500lbs. I will be buried with my reverse hyper

That feel when you are warming up on the reverse hyper and your lower back pops & crackles when you squeeze it at the top of the movement... I almost came.
