Big cities are overrated. You pay out the ass for a small apartment or you have to live in a neighborhood where it's not fun to walk around at night. The activities that it gets you all cost money. If you're really into eating out and nightlife, it's neat. Having a car is a ****ing hassle and parking sucks. If you don't have a car, then you can't ever leave the city, which means that you better not be into the outdoors at all. Everything is more expensive. Only really worthwhile if you're making a lot of money.
Would rather live somewhere a little out of a city. Go in when you want to and save a bunch of cash.
East Bay>SF practically speaking for example.

Well NYC is only 1 of 2 Alpha++ global cities (the other being London).
It has the best restaurants, best entertainment, most bars, and best shopping in the world, and is basically the world headquarters for finance, fashion, publishing, advertising, modeling, theatre, etc.
On that note, yes it's astronomically expensive, extremely crowded, and ultra competitive.

Some people are about that slow take it easy life.
New York City is about making money, do whatever it is you can to survive , kind of thing. Also, it's probably the capital of the world
That's why they say if you make it here you can make it anywhere.RICHIES GYM crew

I live near Philly but go to school closer to NY. I prefer Philly in just about every way unless I'm trying to wile out, in which case NY (i.e. webster hall, roseland ballroom, etc.) is much better.

You really need to go there with someone who knows the city. I went there a few times for work and was sort of at a loss when trying to find things to do . Then I went there with someone who knew the city and it was amazing. All the different neighborhoods have their own personalities and there are places that a tourist would never find themselves.
Case in point was we were in midtown walking down a street and there was a vast brick wall that was the base of a building. There was one steel door that just looked like an emergency exit. My co-worker opened the door and we made our way up to a badass rooftop deck/bar where you could overlook just about the entire city. Chill neighborhood spots with cool people. The tourist stuff is kind of a trap. We went to one of the big delis and I treated my entire team. I handed them my credit card and they said it was cash only. LOFL I was like ummmm I don't have that kind of cash but since the bill was so high they actually had me fill out an old school credit authorization form.New and improved crew
