"Religion also stood out as a possibility. Always used to think there MUST have been something/someone before the big bang, or before that, or before that, etc... and that even though **** happened, it happens for a reason and those who **** happens to for no reason (5 year old raped, etc) would be eternally compensated.... but then I realized that I wasn't taking meth, and that there is no proper compensation for what some people have gone through, that they just got ****ed and then nothingness"

I love wearing my uniform. Every time I put it on, I think about the people who wore it first. Thousands of people have died wearing that uniform, and I try to live to their standard every day. The next morning, I look in the mirror wearing the same uniform happy that I was my best me the day before.

not sure if srs... Really wish I had a more eloquent way to say it, but its pretty much like I had always accepted that there HAD to be something/someone pulling the strings.... that everything couldn't be coincidence, and that while I didn't have the exact explanation for it (I always operated under the assumption that some higher power started the big bang or whatever the first real event was purposefully, because if they truly were omnipotent, they would know the exact (infinite) consequences of each and every piece of matter created... but if that's the case, then were a select few of us made for the sole purpose of being torn down?

Reading my favorite philosophers, any great work of art, good food, small groups of friends drinking on weekends, general hedonism, and the thought of anything to do with power/domination/submissiveness

Repped. Your first quote in your sig sort of gets at what I'm getting at here. When you start to realize that happiness is barely even real, and that neither are the virtues and morals that you believed would guide you for a lifetime, you sort of start to wonder what the point is, or if we're all just biding our time, waiting for something that never comes

You've got it. This generation has so much information exposure and faith has been so weakened that people are actually starting to see the real conditions of life instead of the fantasy that most people reside in. Nothing has ultimate purpose, everything here is transitory and empty, and the moment to moment experience is all there is.
My sig quote refers to a point when you realize this openness and freedom and become displeased with the idea of simply persisting in comfort. Rather, one should strive to shape their experience of the world to their deepest personal desire, their most instinctual happiness, or die trying. That should be more life-affirming than making your life simpler and easier and more comfortable.
This is making living an art form instead of living as a means to some end, because there is no end to head towards. "We have art in order not to die of the truth"not srs

I never thought I would have kids. I always thought kids are cool but not for me. I now have a daughter and nothing makes me happier then to see her smile.
