This. Don't worry about supplements until you start getting your caloric intake for your body down first. if you don't eat enough, you won't have enough nutrients to rebuild those muscles. Supplements are exactly that. To supplement you and your body to meet your nutrition goals. You should not be relying solely on supplements to get you where you want to be

by the sounds of it youve wasted a year if you havent changed anything, ive been lifting just under 7 months and every day people are saying wtf you are big now, used to be so small. people say your not eating enough, if more than one person says this dont you think maybe you should try with a strong diet to help you reach your goal?
supplements fill the (small) gaps in your workouts + diet that should already be pretty strong.
if you aint eating you aint growing simple as that my friend.

God you guys needa pull those thorny sticks outa yo asses. He's asking for supp advice, instead of barraging him with EAT EAT EAT, you can maybe add that as a little note then ANSWER HIS DAMNED QUESTION.
- since your having trouble getting in cals, find a mass gainer shake, if you're too lazy to make your own.
- creatine (green mag, so damned good)
- multivitamin
- fish oil
- a preworkout supp if you have issues with intensity and motivation at the gym

I know guy's that take weight gainers protein... For 945 calories per serving... Well that's alot cheaper then 945 calories of food and it helps them gain weight... You could look into that... Idk what kind of rep that stuff gets around here, but I would recommend fish oil, and weight gainers.
I'd also like to point out, after a year of lifting if you are gaining 2.5kg in 5 months that's over 1 lb a month.. Sounds like a smooth and steady approach. But to each his own I guess.

I think he's saying a supplement(like a weight gainer) will help him reach his caloric intake on top of what he's eating. He just wants advice on what supplement he should buy... And to the op. If you can afford it then look into a weight gainer like serious mass. This doesn't replace food as everyone says, you should take it and keep eating your meals to reach your macros for the day

Dude you think supplements will make you gain and you talk about eating a lot but not being able to eat enough. It's not you it's the fact I've heard this before. Just buy peanutbutter and oats and stuff. You will gain. You have to track calories. It's the only way. You can't just eat till your full because sometimes that's not enough. Supplements do not do anything worth the money. Only thing I can think of would be a mass gainer for you. Gl

To bad that's not the only way.... If he claims he can't hit his macros then I see no reason why he can't use a weight gainer to supplement his diet, why is that a problem? If he can afford a weight gainer I see no reason as to why he cannot use them.... They give him the things he needs on top of his food to reach his macros. I'm not telling him to just take a million supplements, but adding a weight gainer into his day to reach his macros really isn't a big deal.

I just have a problem with people thinking that relying on supplements to get him/her to their desired goals is the answer. If the OP needs to hit target calories..
- Make your OWN weight gainer. Whole Milk , Ice Cream, Nut Butter, Whey, Etc.. much more cost effective
- DRINK your calories. A 12 oz glass of whole milk with each meals is easily 500-600kcals on top of ones daily intake.

Op listen to me. There aren't any supplements that are gonna make you gain weight. It is your diet.
Weight gainer supplements are bullsh*t. They are expensive and don't have many servings.
The only supplement I would buy if were you is whey protein. Then make your own weight gainer shake by adding things into your whey protein shake.
And even with that its not gonna make you gain weight alone. That's just an add on to your diet.
Start eating things like chicken, steak, rice, beans, tuna, milk, eggs, yogurt, bagels, sandwiches, even pop tarts,, ice cream, pizza, burgers, fries.
