    Progressive overload while cutting.

Hi! I am a beginner/intermediate lifter (started 3 months ago) and I am currently cutting. Just wondering if doing progressive overload (increasing weight a bit every new week) is recommended or pointless while cutting.

It's always recommended as best as you can. Progressive overload just isn't the amount of weight lifted. It could also entail the amount of sets i.e volume, rest time, etc.

Plus if you've only been lifting for 3 months you're still a beginner and not an intermediate.

    You are not an intermediate.

Not nearly enough information to give a good response.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends. Considering how new you are, the answer is probably going to be yes.

I cringe a little when someone says they "do progressive overload".
