Just my $0.02...
You join the Marines for the infantry and you join one of the other branches for everything else. I wouldn't want any other Marines MOS but 0311. That's where you'll see the most action.
Personally, if I made the choice, I would only join the military for a combat MOS.

ohh forgot to tell you ****gons that i made my very first venison dish. it was AMAZING.
-marinated venison in a tupperwear container with a can of diced tomatoes with italian seasoning and some mccormics spicy montreal seasoning (if you arent aware, this chits amazing).
-browned up the venison in a large skillet with 1/3 stick butter
-threw in 4 sliced shallots toward the end of the browning
-threw shallots and meat in crock pot, as well as rest of tomatoes from tupperwear
-quarters some yellow onions, put them in the hot pan from the meat browning. then threw them in the crock pot
-took some white wine we had open and poured maybe a half cup in the skillet to soften up all the hardened crap from brownign the meat, them dumped this all in the crock pot
-added in a some potatoes, carrots, a few thinly sliced cloves of garlic
-added a bunch of salt and just cracked thick black pepper, and basil. then 2 cups of water over top of it.
-2 heaping teaspoons of corn starch in the last half hour to thicken it up.
cooked for 7-8 hours.
was AMAZED at how good this chit tasted. brought some over to my friends, he and his GF loved it.

I'm so fuking tempted to neg you every time I see you post because of this shiit post.
How are you going to tell them you're Infantry? Like a god damn man. You better not take that shiitstain attitude to the Corps or you're gonna get your shiit pushed in.
If your parents don't like it tell them to STFU, pick up a rifle, and follow me. While others may get their citizenship through being their parents fucck prize, you're gonna earn it.
Oh and get used to the words Selfless Service. It isn't about what you want buttercup. Now you've gone an made me agitated.#ABGT

Pizza welcome back fgt. sorry to hear about your situation and hopefully it works out in your favor being it was self defense.
And that's perfectly fine. Just because some chose other routes than infantry to serve doesn't make their service any less honorable. The problem I had is that you chose the Marines KNOWING you may not get what you want. You should have expected it. Yet instead of manning up you bitched and complained and insulted the infantry and that doesn't fly with me especially coming from a civilian who doesn't know anything. If you think that's all that's involved on the line you better pepper your angus srs.
Being in the military is all about attitude regardless of ranch or MOS. If you go into this with the same attitude you've portrayed here you're going to have a really bad time.

Combatdepth has no idea about whether or not I was ever going into the military. Combatdepth has no idea about whether or not I had to deal with severe disappointment regarding military service. Combatdepth should shut the **** up and realize that although I've never served active duty and know nothing about the infantry, that that doesn't mean that I know nothing about the military, have never worn a uniform, or am completely clueless on the subject of how general life in the military is.
If me suggesting that Goldie watch a movie about corrupt/******* superiors, disappointment, disillusion, and differences between perception and reality as these themes relate to military service bothers you, then the problem is on your end.
As for that last sentence, I'm sorry that your experiences with women have been limited to sluts who would treat you with so little regard.
I'm going to take off from posting here for a bit. This rifle isn't going to pay for itself, and every second I spend here could be spent earning money. The minute spent reading that post and replying to it was not worth being a minute away from this rifle, and now I'm irritated with myself.Florida Crew as of 3/21

And I know your feels. I've broken pretty much every bone in my hands/wrist/arms over the years, 4 herniated disks, broken ankle that always hurts, rorator cuff issues.
I think the problem is I never let anything fully heal. I've cut casts off, taken out my own stitches etc. If I can't go to the gym I start to lose my mind. It's absolutely an addiction.
I'm trying to give this a week to heal, but it's only day 4 and I'm freaking out.*MFCi*

All this. I've dealt with Soldiers that were disillusioned with their choice in the CAV. Some toe'd the line and asked for a MOS change and got it. Some acted like whiny bitches and I released my NCOs on them. Every single one of those turds ended up getting their clearance revoked and kicked out for drugs.
Goldie, if you don't like what you see... that "contract" you signed isn't a contract. Ask me how I know. Oh, thanks for asking... it's because I signed one too. Signed it, realized I would better serve my nation as an officer, went to college, and earned my commission.
Lead, Follow, or get out of the way.
Exactly. Goldie deserves real talk and not Oprah-style "we're all gonna make it girlfriend" talk.#ABGT

So I went to NYC for the annual Christmas tree lighting the other day...
I know it gets a lot of flak in this thread for being a police state, but I'll step out of line here and share a couple of things that I always notice and appreciate about New York City:
- Everything is fast. The people walk fast, the clerks at shop/food counters get your order done fast, the cabs get you to places pretty quickly too considering the traffic, etc. I like the efficiency.
- The people dress really good. You'll rarely see anyone wearing sweatpants, which in Philadelphia is everyday attire for some people.
- So many attractive tall Russian women. Most of the women are 7+/10.
- A lot of stuff to do, great entertainment, if you have money to spend, it's a great place to visit. Restaurants are great and considering the competition, you'll never come across the place with poor products/service.
- Great energy/vibe from people. Everyone seems very happy and vain, it's beautiful
Some less noticeable things...
There's a lot of opportunities in the city. If you have great work ethic and great ideas, no place will treat you as good as NYC will. If you're poor and even worse if you are poor and lazy, you're going to have a hard time fitting in. In a way, despite the nanny state tendencies of its city government, NYC is an example of social Darwinism at its finest.
