Could the human race actually survive an alien invasion?

I personally love sci fi flicks and many of them feature a war of the worlds scenario where the human race is in conflict with a technologically superior race. But some how always ends up winning, generally through blind luck.

Do you think its possible for humans to actually fend off an attack from aliens who mastered space travel?

If an alien race has the tech to go light speed to our galaxy - they'll likely be able to bomb us from a distance and wipe us out or dwindle us to the point we're not a threat and then terraform the planet back to sustainable conditions and then clone/populate the planet with their own species and we'll be nothing more than "zoo" creatures.

We did in my dream two nights ago. They actually got killed fairly easy. They battled mostly in the air though. It occurred in my morning but it looked like dusk.
