Shocking my system. Giant Sports Metabolic Bioshock

Received a tub of Metabolic Bioshock from Giant Sports. Lets start off by saying thank you to Giant Sports for the chance to try the product and share my thoughts.

    The product:

By now most have likely heard of this product but it is a prework out supplement with a 100% open label, meaning no prop blends

I am a big fan of no prop blends. Lets you know what your taking and how to adjust to your needs.

    Product Highlights according to manufacturer

    6.3 Grams of BCAA’s
    • 3 Grams of Creatine
    • 2 Grams of Carnitine
    • 100 Milligrams of “Solubilized
    CoQ10 Complex”
    • 18.8 Grams of Amino Acids
    • 100% Open Label
    • Branded, Top Quality Ingredients
    in Clinically Validated Doses
    • Aids in Muscle Recovery – Fights
    Muscle Soreness and Fatigue
    • Increases Aerobic and Anaerobic
    Endurance
    • All The Key Nutrients You Need In
    Just One Product
    • Rapid Onset Focus and Energy
    Boost

Looking at the label this is intended to be more than just your typical pre workout, providing a ton of various aspects to improve your lifts. On label alone it is hard to say this is not a pretty complete product. I like that the label spells out 1 and 2 scoops. So it reads great. we will see how it performs

    Taste:

I received the Blue Raspberry flavor. To start, in general, I would not pick this flavor for any pre workout. It really is not my thing. I mixed this product with the suggested amount of water, about 12 oz per scoop. It is not bad. I dont cringe to drink it. It is not particularly good either. I find this to be to artificial in taste and overly sweet for me. I dont think I will have any issue taking it down on a night to night basis, and maybe it will grow on me, but first impression this is like drinking a cheap sugary drink. I do not drink anything past water, milk, and orange juice, maybe occasionally a green tea. I am not big on taste for pre workouts, but I tend to appreciate more light tasting products. This is not the reason I take a pre, and I am not complaining. The taste will not prevent me from using this product in any way. Just noting my impression. Not exactly a pretty looking drink either, kinda resembles windshield washer fluid

    Mixability

As mentioned I mixed the product with 12 oz of water per scoop. Placed it in a shaker cup and after a couple shakes it was time to party. For the most part this product mixes ok, but if you let it sit a bit you will start to get a build up that settles at the bottom of your cup

This is to be expected with creatine being in the drink, but once again worth mentioning. A couple quick shakes before every sip and there was no residue in my cup

Going forward I will log my lifts and give my impressions on effectiveness. Once again thank you to Bruce and Giant Sports for the chance to try this product.

    Day 1 -

Bit about myself, what sups I am taking, and my lifts

    34
    190lbs
been wait training for just under 20 years
    Sups:

    Multi Vit
    Fish Oil
    This Pre
    Tropinol
    Intimidate SRT
    Whey

Train 5-6 days a week broken up into Push, Pull, and Leg days. Mainly compound lifts, usual rep range 4-8

    Push Day -

I usually lift at nights. Today I was able to get in an afternoon lift. Full disclosure I have been battling a cold and had a couple of drinks last night (3). Nothing Crazy just worth mentioning. I decided to start off at 2 scoops as I am reasonably stim tolerant and I did not have to worry about going to sleep. At 2 scoops I am getting 300mg of caffeine which is typically what I look for when taking a pre workout. Mixed with 24 oz of water about 20 minutes prior to hitting the gym.

Started to get a little stim buzz as I was hitting the gym but nothing over the top. Was expecting to feel it hit a little harder but the increase in energy was there.

    Barbell Bench
    bar x 20
    135 x 20
    225 x 12
    275 x 6
    295 x 4
    295 x 4
    275 x 6
    225 x 10
    135 x 20

Felt good. Not an overwhelming bit of energy but I was pleased with my lifts. Try to keep my rest times on heavy lifts somewhere between 2-3 minutes.

    Incline Barbell
    bar x 20
    135 x 20
    225 x 8
    245 x 5
    245 x 5
    225 x 7
    135 x 20

Still feeling good, not great, but had a nice energy. Focus was ok, but nothing above normal. no pump as of yet to note

    Dumbbell Military

    50lb dumbbells x 20
    95lb dbs x 8
    95lb dbs x 7
    95lb dbs x 7
    50lb dbs x 20

At this point some of the initial stim buzz was gone but I still had good energy and was pushing the weights I was looking to be.

    Decline Close Grip Bench
    bar x 20
    135 x 20
    185 x 10
    225 x 8
    135 x 20

Triple Super Set Side Lateral, Front Raises, Bent over side raises
Light weight for 3 sets of 10+ reps per exercise

Had a nice pump which would be expected with the volume. Was pretty vascular at this point as well. Energy was decent but was coming down a bit by now

    Military Machine Press
light weight 3 sets rep range 30-50 to failure

I had a good day in the gym. To a degree I wonder if I expected a little too much coming in because of all of the glowing reviews of the product. I did receive a nice push of energy, some pumps, and not much focus. Overall it was effective in aiding me with my lifts. Too early to make any declaration on how good it is or not as I would expect with some of the elements of this pre continued use should result in greater effect. I am not sure if I will just stick at 2 scoops or if I will drop down to 1.5 for tomorrow.

    Day 2, push day

decided to stick with 2 scoops. This is a pretty thick pre workout. The taste is tolerable. I took this down about 20 minutes before the gym. Had a little stomach pain entering the gym but that went away pretty quick

    Barbell bent over rows
    45 x 20
    135 x 20
    225 x 8
    225 x 8
    225 x 8
    135 x 20

energy hit me a little harder today. nice energy to start my lifts

    Wide Grip Pull Ups
    body weight x 10
    weighted 25 x 10
    weighted 50 x 6
    weighted 50 x 6
    body weight x 10

Super set front and back pull downs alternating
    70 x 30
    85 x 20
    110 x 20
    120 x 20
    140 x 16
    85 x 20

Starting feeling a nice pump in my biceps. solid energy, decent focus. nothing great in the focus department but I was dialed in

    Barbell curls
    45 x 20
    65 x 10
    85 x 10
    105 x 10
    125 x 6
    65 x 20

felt nice and swollen at this point. Had nice vascular look. Taste was repeating on me a bit

    Dumbbell Curls
    30lb dbs x 10 each arm
    40 dbs x 10
    50 dbs x 10
    60 dbs x 6

    Upright rows
    45 x 20
    65 x 10
    85 x 10
    105 x 10
ladder set drop down no rest between
    125 x 6
    105 x 6
    85 x 10
    65 x 16

still feeling solid. The effects of this pre felt better for me today. nice energy, nothing crazy with a nice pump although I was pushing volume

    Close Grip Pull Downs
    70 x 30
    85 x 20
    105 x 20
    120 x 0
ladder drop down with no rest
    140 x 10
    120 x 10
    105 x 10
    85 x 10
    70 x 20

had a real nice full pump on my back and biceps. My lift tonight was solid and the effects of this pre did my well. I didn't tire out too much and all in all day 2 was an improvement from day 1 which was not bad to begin with. Looking forward to legs tomorrow. I will not struggle to drink this pre but this is probably in the lower class of the pre workouts I have used with regards to taste. That being said it also contains allot more so I guess there is a trade off.

    Day 3, Legs

2 scoops 20 minutes prior. Impressions on taste remain the same so not going to rehash the same comments. Had some stomach pains today again but nothing bad

Barbell Squats with raised heels on 5lb plates
    bar x 20
    135 x 20
    225 x 10
    315 x 10
    365 x 10
    405 x 6
    405 x 5
    315 x 10
    225 x 10
    135 x 20

the energy I get from this pre is present but not over the top. I felt good and pushed the weights I set out to do. I just started with the raise heel to try and focus on my form some more. My ROM on the 405 was not all that it should be but I am working on it.

    Deadlift

    135 x 10
    225 x 10
    315 x 6
    405 x 5
    455 x 1
    475 x 1
    315 x 10
    225 x 10

as I mentioned my energy was not through the roof but I felt strong. The 475 represents a new modern high for me. I used to pull heavier weights but I had abandoned my legs for a good while. Been working on getting them back up to speed. Really happy with these lifts. Felt good, amped a bit but all in all just in a good mental and physical place to lift.

    Single Leg, Leg Sled
    1 plate each side x 20
    3 total plates x 20
    2 plates each side x 20

    Hack Squat Sled
    1 plate each side x 10
    2 plates each side x 10
    3 plates each side x 10
    4 plates each side x 10

still felt nice and strong. Some of the energy I had early in the lift had dissipated but still locked in

    Smith machine Lunges
    bar x 10 per leg
    95 x 10 per leg
    135 x 10 per leg

    Squat Machine Standing Calf Raises
    no plates x 20
    1 plate each side x 20
    2 plates each side x 10
    3 plates each side x 10
    3 plates each side x 10
    1 plate each side x 20
    no plates x 20

Calf had a nice pump at this point. Legs were starting to really feel the effects of the lift. still had enough energy, felt good

    Seated Leg Curls
4 sets light weight high reps nice and slow squeezing the lifts

3 days in and I am still developing my thoughts on this pre. I felt strong today and pushed some good weights for me. My energy was not crazy but I did not lack in any way. I feel I had good focus today and received a nice full feeling in my legs as the lifts progressed. Likely going to take tomorrow off although I may take a scoop and do some cardio on the elliptical in my basement

Well made it into the gym today because the rest of the week is a bit hectic. Have to be brief on the post because of time constraints.

Push day, 2 scoops. Had nice energy but maybe wishing I had a little more. Felt strong and pushed solid weight. Did not notice any pump until I did some high volume tricep pull downs and cable flys. My chest and triceps were really swollen.

Nice day in the gym, felt good, I am enjoying this pre. Tomorrow will be a high volume pull day at home

2 scoops before my work out today. Did a pull day focusing on high volume. Will get back to logging all lifts but time is short tonight.

I have grown more accustomed to what to expect while taking this pre. The energy does not hit me hard but by the time I hit the gym I am ready to go. I have felt strong in each session and the pumps have been better with each day. My focus is good and I have been pleased with my lifts each day.

On the somewhat negative side, and gross side, my stool has become a shade of blue due to this product. I do not particularly love that but it would not prevent me from using it either

Surprisingly the taste may be growing on me a bit. Not saying I love it, just growing on me

Worked out legs yesturday . focussed in on form at lower weight. 2 scoops

    Barbell squats
    Bar x 20
    135 x 20
    225 x 15
    315 x 10
    365 x 10
    225 x 15
    135 x 20

Had good energy and felt good through my lifts

    Deadlift
    135 x 10
    225 x 10
    315 x 10
    365 x 10
    135 x 10

As has been the case my last couple of lifts I felt strong.

    Lunges
    90lb barbell
    3 sets 30 lunges

    Leg extensions
4 sets light weight rep range 20-30

    Leg curls
    Same as extensions

    Seated calf raises
    Same as extensions

Had a good workout with nice energy. Legs felt full from the pump. Was pleased with the session

    100 x 5
    100 x 6
    55 x 20

Felt real good tonight. Strength stayed with me through the session. Energy was good but not over the top. Pump was present but not crazy. Was very vascular towards the end of my lifts. Did burp/mouth puke once or twice tonight. It is not the heaviest pre I have taken but it is a pretty thick drink.

Your experiences this far are SPOT ON what BK was trying to get when he formulated this. Enough "energy" to keep you going while being safe in caffeine dosage. Increases in endurance
and strength that get better the more you use it. And of course, a pretty solid pump that psychologically motivates you when you look in the mirror and see the veins pop out all over the place
and muscle bellies full and thick.

If this is what you see with MBS? This is what we aimed for. Joe did a stellar job of flavoring this which BK said was the most disgusting tasting base he ever made due to the high MSM
content. It's thick because its loaded with "stuff" that should help you attain your goals in the gym much faster.

Yea I understand its because of the loaded ingredient panel. Not trying to complain about that just mentioning what I experienced to give the full picture. It has been a solid pre for me this far and my lifts have been on point

    Pull day.

    2 scoops

    Barbell bent over rows
    Bar x 20
    135 x 20
    225 x 8
    225 x 8
    225 x 8
    135 x 20

I have to say the pump I experience with this pre has increased with each use. Could feel it in my lower back already. Had a nice energy going

    Pull-ups
    Body weight x 10
    Weighted 25 x 10
    Weighted 45 x 6
    Weighted 45 x 6
    Weighted 45 x 6
    Body weight x 10

Superset pulldowns front and back alternating reps
4 sets low weight rep range 15-30

Lifts felt good, nice strength l, trying to keep rest times down

    Barbell curls
    45 x 20
    65 x 10
    85 x 10
    105 x 10
    125 x 6
    65 x 20

Solid pump all around at this point

    Dumbell curls
    30lb db x 10 each arm
    40lb db x 10
    50lb db x 10
    25lb db x 20

Vascular dilation has been dramatic on the pre. At this point of my lifts my veins were popping

    Close grip pull downs
    75 x 30
    95 x 20
    120 x 15
    140 x 10
    160 x 10

Kept the weights low but focused on squeezing the reps

    Preacher curls
5 sets low weight rep range 20-40

Solid day training with some sick pumps and dilation. Energy was where it needed to be to push through my session. Wife did make fun of me because the pre turned my tongue blue. Overall I can say the effects of this pre have improved over continued use

Cramped for time but wanted to get my thoughts in.

    Leg day

2 scoops maybe a bit more

Had an awesome day. Solid energy, great strength. Legs are going to hurt tomorrow but I am looking forward to it. Probably the best workout I have had thus far with this pre. By the end of my workout I was walking like.... Well I will keep it clean. Good recovery during my lifts, still plenty in the tank afterwards.

Just wrapped up week 2 of taking this pre which I think is ample sample size to give my total impressions. Start off by saying thank you to Giant sports for the chance to try this product.

Taste- I received blue razz which is not typically my thing. At first I did not really care for the taste but after a couple uses it grew on me. Not saying I love it, but it was not bad to take down

Mixability- this pre has a ton of stuff in it. When you shake it up there are no clumps but if you leave it sitting a decent amount settles to the bottom. A quick shake and it's good to go.

Profile- open label so you know what you are getting. This pre is jammed pack with quality tested ingredients to promote a good lift. The profile of this pre stands up there with almost any on the market

Energy- this took me a little time to dial into. This pre provides a clean effective energy that does not overwhelm you but is there. Never experienced a crash and had enough to push through all of my lifts. For someone who is a stim junky you may find yourself longing for more but for me it provides an appropriate amount

Pump- this gets better with continued use. When doing high rep isolation lifts it can get real intense. It does not get in the way if my lifts and gives you a nice full feeling at the end of my lifts.

Vascular dilation- off the charts. I have taken a decent amount of pre workouts but none have made my veins pop the way this pre does. Bravo

Recovery- good recovery during my lifts. Maintained short rest periods and my strength stayed with me through my sessions

Side effects - I thought it only right to list some of the things that were not all that good as well. Drinking this turns my teeth and tongue blue. The coloring of this product is a bit over the top for me. It is a thick drink that did repeat on me from time to time. This is to be expected because of how much is in the product. The coloring came out the other end as well.

Final thoughts- this is solid. With every use it's effect improved for me. The energy was there and effective. My recovery and strength lasted through my lifts and I felt huge by the time my lifts were over. I am a fan. I have some things that I do not love with this pre but all in all it is a top notch product that I would recommend to anyone in the market

Once again thank you for the chance to try this pre.
