Bought my wife a new S7 last night. This morning the dog got the fast charging cord off of the table STILL IN THE GODDAMN PACKAGE and chewed it up. I also bought myself an S7, but after setting hers up I don't think I want a mini phone lol. Note 5 is so much bigger.
I got a really good deal on them through work on a father's day promotion ON TOP of subsidized pricing. You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

I'm using the file managing application X-Plore. It's great, but for some reason it ballooned up to 11 gigs in size and I had to delete it. Any idea why this would happen. I've been copy and pasting (but deleting the original copies) files all day, but I don't understand why that would cause this problem.

Making the switch right now to see how it goes. I'll give it a week and make a decision. I'll sell the one I decide to move on from. I'm still getting the Note 6/7 in August. It is a big difference in size. I'm using the smart switch usb connector to transfer content. Also used Tap&Go. Apparently this is going to restore everything i.e. messages, call logs, pics. Seems kind of stuck at 12 out of 50 apps right now though.

Still trying to set this damn thing up. Problem after problem. The little smart switch connector is not working right. It keeps freezing when restoring apps. On my second factory reset now. Initial set up was fine, then when I tried to open anything google related it wouldn't connect. Cleared cache, removed account and re-added, but nothing worked, had to reset. Then the Samsung account would not connect and it would not connect to my Gear S2. Reset again. Now for my 3rd try at this. This time I'm skipping the smart switch adapter and going to just try tap and go.
Also, when connecting my Gear S2 I noticed the back glass (the part that touches your wrist) is fuking broken. I've never dropped this thing, NEVER. It doesn't have a scratch on it anywhere. I don't know when or how this happened. Only thing I can think of is it hit the metal band when in my gym back and got some pressure on it. Everything works fine on it. I know it didn't happen recently b/c there is no loose glass on it. I'll post a pic when I get at least ONE phone working. You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

My thoughts after going from S6-Note 5-S7.
It's tiny, yes. I'm getting used to it. Not really missing the big screen, per se. I guess I'd have to go back to a Note to see. The S7 is a damn good device it's powerful, beautiful and easy to handle. I'd even venture to say that handling it in day-to-day use is a bit refreshing b/c it's less likely to fall out of my hand.
Design
This device is really gorgeous. It have the "regular" S7, but the glass is still curved on the edges noticeably and it really adds to the aesthetic. The metal frame is a really nice gray as well. The back is curved for ergonomics and really feels good. The device feels very expensive in your hand. The home button is minus the chrome bezel, which is a good touch imo. It's my first black device in 3 years. Also the home button is not loose like it was on the S6 and Note 5. It's firm and does not wiggle, which always bothered me about the Note 5. Excellent build quality. It is a thick device to be so small. But that's a welcome trade off for the beast of a battery it has. It seems to be a better built device and has less 'edges' than the Note. It all flows together seamlessly.
Software
Nothing much to report here as I came from a Marshmallow device. It works as it should with no lag at all. I did change my animation scale to make it extra snappy and it made a difference. It doesn't make a difference with all devices, but it was noticeable on my Note 5 and this S7. To change animation scale go to settings-about phone-build number and tap it repeatedly until you see the countdown. Once you've enabled developer mode there will be a developer settings category in the settings menu. Go in there and change the animations scales from 1.0 to .5. There are 3 of them. The always on screen is very useful and I love it. I monitor my battery percentage more than the time, and I love it. One flaw I have noticed that I do NOT like is that when you get a message it doesn't show the message on the lock screen. My Note 5 did that....I think.
Hardware
Well the device does get hot if you do much with it. Not bad and I haven't had it shutdown or give me a warning, but it got pretty hot during set up. It charges fast, really fast. Seems better than my Note 5, although that's just anecdotal. I have a wireless charger (standard speed). The Note 5 had a helluva problem with it. It wouldn't recognize the charger REPEATEDLY. I had to unplug the charger at least once every 3 days to 'reboot' the charger so it would work. Three days in with the S7 and it's recognized every single time w/o issue. Don't know the difference there, improved hardware inside or what. The fingerprint scanner is accurate and fast. You'd have to watch it in slow motion to prove it's not instantaneous. The camera is amazing, of course, as you've heard. If you zoom in when looking at a picture you definitely notice the MP difference though between the S7 and Note 5 though.
Battery
In a word, awesome. That thing doesn't move! Well, it does, actually. Seems to get down to 85% fast, but then takes forever to get lower than that. S6 was the same way. I haven't really put the battery through it's paces yet, but I'll know more after this weekend. Very happy so far. Although I'm not one to test batteries well b/c I am always near a charger. I have 4 on my desk lol. One fast, 2 regular and one wireless. I work with phones all day, so I have to have chargers on hand at all times.
Conclusion
I like it. I'll keep it. I'm selling my Note 5. I will go back to a Note when the 6/7 come out. I'm a phone sloot. Plus, I get subsidized phones though work and as long as I don't keep one too long I can keep selling my current device for more than the next one will cost. So, you see, it benefits me to change devices often. You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

Nothing custom yet. I like the stock stuff b/c it's integrated better and works well with my Gear S2. I used to do the 3rd party launchers and sms apps, but they always seemed to disappoint me. The theme store satisfies my customization needs.
brb phone changes more than signature lol I am a gadget whore. I work with phones and read phonearena it's hard not to get the latest greatest. You'd be so jelly if you knew what I got the S7 for lol.You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

Yeah, I felt that way when I first did it. I went from a rooted G2 using themer to a stock S6 using nothing. It all started when SOS wouldn't work with 3rd party sms apps and something else wouldn't work on the S6 I can't remember. So I tried out the stock app and after a couple of weeks started using the themes and never went back. I also imagine my Gear S2 works best when I use the stock sms app, haven't tried it though.
I have Nova Prime on my work phone, a Note 3. But, I don't use for much of anything other than Pandora when I mow (b/c I'm not risking my good device) and CoC 2nd account. You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

It's not bad, it really isn't. It used to be, but it's cool now. I have a really cool pic as the background of my sms convo's of a rocket launch. There are some really good themes and they change the look of everything. Home screen, sms app, dialer, settings, email, keyboard.
Ok, so I got to thinking about my Note 3 I use for work. I looked to see if I could get a Note 4 for free, but Verizon didn't have any. So, I asked to get approved to get an S7 edge for my work phone and got it. It will be here tomorrow. Paid for by my job! I'll be responsible for answering service calls off work soon anyway. They've been saying it's coming, so I may have sped that up by getting this, but we have a steep discount on S7, S7 edge and Note 5 until Father's day. Good chance to try an edge device for free. You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

Yeah it is gonna suck. I'm kind of the understudy right now so I won't be getting too much, if any calls. I could probably get my phone put on it, but that's an ordeal since I'm on contract (newly signed) with Verizon. Idk how it works to get bill responsibility shifted. I could easily ditch my personal phone and just use this, but I don't want to change my number.

Google Messenger does. Example, on Spoitfy at the gym receive a message and audio is stopped for a second. Reply to message and audio stops again for a second. And this happens whether phone is on ring, vibrate or silent.
Phone is Note 5. Super annoying.
BBM does require others to be on it but the security is pretty nice as the messages are tagged from one PIN to the other PIN (phones unique PIN). I'm no Edward Snowden but when I'm chatting with some people I don't want Google syncing my messages across devices, y'know."Some people spend their entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem."-President Ronald Reagan

It doesn't even slightly resemble Hangouts to me but I like the looks of it. I look forward to trying it out.
I did.
Last week we got 1 TMUS share, 1 Warcraft Gear bag (t-shirt and I think other items) 4 Warcraft movie tickets (that we didn't redeem in time) 4 pizzas, 4 Wendy's frosties, and 4 Vudu rentals.
This week we again got the frosties, pizzas, and movie rentals but instead of movie tickets, we got $15 credit for a Lift ride.
