Nexus 5 OTA lollipop 5.0 update came through for me this morning.
So far mixed sorta feelings, functionality wise it has improved (except for chromes "tabs" lol), but somethings just look real ugly because of the approach they're taking now, gotten rid of transparency from alot of things (google now bar, app drawer etc)

Likes:
Finally, torch in the settings/notification pull down!! (main feature that i missed from custom ROMS).
Notifications now handled much better.

Dislikes:
App drawer has solid white background, looks ugly. Transparent background with app icons looked much better.
Google search bar, again solid white background = ugly
Caller Background: solid blue = ugly
Chrome now doesn't actually do tabs, it basically opens another chrome instance which you have to navigate through the app drawer to find, but still calls it "tabs" lol.

What is the difference between the messaging and messenger apps?

Everyone keeps saying that messenger is better. But to me, they look exactly the same. Except one lets me have a image background.

Edit: Also. Is there a link or list that can tell me which apps that came with the phone can be deleted? Android seems to have come with alot of bloatware.

The default sms/mms app is Messages. Messenger is a 3rd party apps from ******** that is for fb messaging.
I dont use the Messages. I used Hangout instead for gtalk, sms and mms.

What phone do you have? Unless you're rooted, you usually CANT uninstall bloatware from manufacturer and your network. Some of them can be frozen though.

Wondering if i can get some help troublshooting this problem with text messaging.

I have a custom sound for receiving texts and I have it set to vibrate when receiving at text. This has worked perfectly, but now it doesn't. I was using messaging first, then went to use messenger next. then even tried hangouts and went back to messaging.

Either way. Far as I know. All of these apps used the same soundbyte and vibrate, since that is my method for receiving texts. But now it isn't vibrating, and playing another sound. I checked the settings and they are all correct.

Am I missing some Android Monday detail?

brahs, with tmobile, is there anyway to void the warranty on my old galaxy s4? I need to get a replacement and I've replaced the screen because it was fukked. I can still get a replacement, right?

I was too, until a year ago. MS really fawked up this generation IMO. I always get both systems, last gen my PS3 went years without getting powered on, this time around it's the Xboner that sits lifeless.

Either way, Android remote play is a sick feature for gamers.

fuk that, i've never gotten more than 2.5 hrs on my n5, normal day is around 1:50

i'm pretty sure i've had a faulty unit from the beginning though

I get at most about a full day (14hours)+3 hours on screen time max. That being said i'm not a heavy user and will rarely do more then 2 hours of on screen time.

Why is delete now called "done"? And why is it now green instead of red when you slide it? What the F is up with googles hard on for check marks?

I am loving this new 5.0 Lollipop update!

Increased battery life, everything runs even smoother than before... if that's possible

Whole experience is just much more enjoyable and looks nice to boot
