Always wondered this. Obviously I have my own weight problems to contend with (lols I can confirm, I was Auschwitz), but how the fuk does one simply eat that much food and do so little exercise? It would take extreme intentional effort for me to ever dream of being close to 200lbs, much less 400lbs like some people out there.

This. Just like the fact that most addicts tend to be down and out and resort to further drug abuse because of the lack of satisfaction in their broken ives, fat people eat more to cope with the fact that it sucks to be fat and quitting overeating is uncomfortable or undesirable.

i've been 235 pounds which on my 5'6 frame is probably obese or close. It happened because I was depressed, ate alot of foods, drank pop and didnt exercise. Also i'm a natural stocky guy almost all my life even when I played sports. It takes tons of effort for me to get down into the good range for me of about 150-160 pounds. It's not easy for everyone bro.

They must be lazy as hell. I have seen programs where the person was like super obese crying and saying they don't want to be fat. I don't have any Sympathy for people like that. It takes a lot to get as fat as them.

Food is not merely food to most individuals, there are social and cultural aspects to food such as meal preparation techniques, dining habits, what is acceptable to eat vs. what's not, etc.
The types of food available in the area is another thing to consider - being from Detroit, there are vast food deserts where you can't find a fresh fruit or vegetable for miles, thus residents will head to where it is cheap and convenient, such as McDonald's.
Education can also impact how children and adults eat, considering we take for granted that most individuals in this country have a basic education and can deduce that eating lots of high fat sugary sweets will most likely lead to weight gain and chronic disease. I spent two years teaching nutrition and exercise lessons to fifth grade students and measured specific outcome goals to see if the education improved weight, blood pressure, and other lab values and the results were surprising.

I was blessed with a metabolism of peace where 4500 cals is my lean bulk any thing lower than that and i will lose weight lol.
It is a combination of genetics, diet, activity level, the mind set you have and the people around you who pretty much encourage you to be a fat kunt.https://bandcamp.com/singularity7 - Music collection. Recommend albums. Always looking for more.

For me it was a number of issues. I wasn't morbidly obese, but just under 300lb at 6'6" with VERY little muscle mass.
(1) Hypothyroidism
(2) No exercise whatsoever
(3) Eating whatever the fuk I wanted. Obviously, because of this, it would change day to day. But probably around 3k cal on weekdays and 3.5k on weekends, 10% protein, 60% carbs, 30% fat (wild guess based on what I used to eat)
Mix all these together and you get a fat bastard. Given that my maintenance now is around 2k when I lift 5x a week and play sport, you can imagine what 3k with no exercise does....*misc lawyer crew*

Former morbidly obese crew checking in.
It's a vicious cycle of bad habits forming one after the other snowballing into one big bad lifestyle.
Sedentary + caloric surplus + slowed down metabolism + fat stores = fat bastard.
In my experience I grew up with the thinking that only the mind matters etc.
Was very good at vidjagames and the cerebral part of things and didn't really bother with the physical shell
All the very active people were mean-ass jocks and I didn't really want to be them or associate with any of their chit so I steered clear of
sports, the gym and exercise cause it was for dumb-jocks with no brains etc.
but lately I got to know that It was just an excuse to being lazy.* do you even chef crew *
* steals steaks and chicken breasts at work to fit macros crew*
* deadlift crates of vegetables everyday crew *
