Does anyone take progress pictures? I have a friend who swares by them. I have another friend who is constantly..well, taking progress pics weekly. Do you think it's a good idea to take them? I ask because I'm thinking of buying a digital camera on Black Friday.
If you think it's a good idea, do you have some recommendations? I haven't looked at digital cameras in years. Last time I checked, 5MP was the big thing. Now I'm seeing 16MP. I think the highest I heard of was 41MP! That's insane! Currently, the Kodak EasyShare is lookin' pretty good. I don't think above 10MP is necessary.

Progress pictures a good idea?
"Lift light, until you can lift right!" Leave your ego out of it!
Don't compare yourself to others. You're your own person.
Lift, eat, then sleep. Rinse & Repeat.

Just like tracking workouts tracking the mirror can have benefits as well. Personally, I find it most rewarding to see visual progress. I'd suggest taking similiar poses/angles/lighting photos at least pre cut, post cut. Pre bulk post bulk. Ill take some inbetween but not very often.
The more I eat and the heavier I train - the better my 'genetics' get.

Taking one at the same time of day under the same lighting at some fixed interval is a great idea.
Seeing your progress is a great motivator. And not seeing any progress shows you you aren't doing it right.Follow my quest for 100,000 pull ups this year

I don't know that anything more frequently than monthly would be worthwhile. But it's absolutely a good idea. Day to day, you won't notice any changes because you get used to the subtle changes. Being able to see results over a longer period of time is good motivation. I wish I had taken them much more often.
Progress pictures, measurements, and tracking your workouts are all musts.
