    Pre-workout and caffeine tolerance.

about a year ago before I got into bodybuilding all I would drink was coke and pepsi, no water or anything else. for the last year however all I ever drink is juice and water and lots of it as well as going to the gym 5 times a week. so here is my question.
Would my body have built a resistance to caffeine and if so would that be gone now? I ask because I have tried pre-workout once for about a week about 3 months ago and didn't feel anything, though that may be because the pre-workout wasn't very good. I want to try using it again because I have noticed I dont really feel motivated in the gym much lately and my friend who does use it is pumped like a monkey in heat, though he has a low caffeine tolerance, or so he says.

    thanks.

Caffine is a drug and so yes you can build up a tolerance to it.

I suppose that makes sense, and after some time on google it seems that the body does get over it after time, suppose I could give one a try now.

Yes. Your body will adjust to it. That is why i like to go 4 weeks on a pre-wo with stimulants and then 2-4 weeks of a pre-wo without stimulants. It makes a huge difference

Buy a preworkout, go through the tub then take a 1-2 week stim break. This can mean switching to a pre that does not contain stims or just not taking a pre workout all together for that time.

It seems like the best solution for you is to take a month long stimulant break. I would go with a nontimulant preworkout such as Push 10 to help bridge the gap.

Cycling would be a good option to consider. I will usually go on a 1 month on, 1 week off cycle and it varies. As for a pre-workout, if your looking for clean energy, focus and massive pumps, check out Bullnox.

i think you'll be just fine big man. i'm actually very sensitive to caffeine and the pwo i use KOTIC from AAEFX doesnt do me any harm at all. so being that you really havent used much caffeine in that year you'll definitely feel the rush of the pwo that first time. one scoop is more then enough so dont take more than one scoop. i've been using it for over two years and i still only use 1 scoop. it's all you need for the intense pump, energy and focus.

You can definitely build up a tolerance to caffeine, but you should be well past that after your soda-drinking days. The pre-workout you tried may not have been very good. Try a different one and take it on an empty stomach before your workouts.

This, your body will build a tolerance to stim and it is wise to go off every now and again to lessen your bodies tolerance in a sense so that when you go back on a pre-workout it seems more effective.
