Think about it, yea vegetables might on paper have a lower protein content by weight, but just think how much a peice of brocolli weighs, not very much. This is why you can eat a lot more brocolli than chicken so you will actually get the same amount of protein without having to eat meat from a dead animal. I've been on a vegan diet since I started lifting 6 months ago and get about 250 grams of protein per day from broccoli and guacamole, it also helps that you can easily blend into a liquid which provides a more concentrated dose of protein due to density.
