Old news, but just wanted to bring it to the attention of everyone who uses popular preworkout supplements which often combine creatine and caffeine. You're better off just using one or the other...
Discovery that the intake of caffeine, combined with a daily creatine supplement, counteracted the beneficial effects of creatine intake on relaxation time and fatigue enhanced this inhibitory effect.
For the athlete in training, the key finding is that sustained caffeine intake, over a three-day period, negates the benefits of creatine supplements.
Creatine will shorten the relaxation time between muscle contractions, but caffeine will help you train longer.

Some people are concerned about taking creatine and caffeine at the same time due to the possible inhibitory effects of caffeine on muscle phosphocreatine. There is mixed research on this with some issues about the applicability of some of the studies which suggest that it is not good to pair creatine with caffeine, but I am not convinced, and I personally take my creatine at the same time I take caffeine. However, this is an area which needs more relevant research and I am open to modifying my views…but not based on what I have seen thus far.

Whats the difference between taking a supplement with creatine and caffeine combined together and taking creatine and caffeine separately? The reason why I say this is because probably 95% of people I know that take creatine supplements also take a PWO with caffeine in it, including myself. I've been doing this for years, and every year I keep getting bigger and better than the year before. If caffeine does effect how creatine works, its not enough to notice. Just my own personal thoughts.
