Agree with OP, feels good being one of the few decent sized guys that can actually run. Run 3-4 miles a day 5-6x a week.
2 Hours of cardio is 1200 cals for you? Lol not a fkn chance. You running slow as **** then and your Hr isn't going above 60 BPM
The more you run the easier distance and faster you're going to get.USMC 09'-12'

Take it from me, I used to do 5 x 45 min of cardio each week : CARDIO IS OVERRATED if your goal is to get BIGGER and STRONGER. As soon as I stopped doing cardio my gains literally EXPLODED. My bench was stuck at 165 for months, within 11 months of no cardio I pushed 250. As soon as I stopped cardio, my biceps went from 16.75 to 17.75' in about a year, and I only gained 5 lbs of fat.
Here's the truth: There's only so much you can make your body do. Cardio, yoga, lifting, boxing, whatever - Wish I could do all of it. I can't. So I've set priorities: 1. Get Stronger 2. Everything else. I'm not saying drop cardio completely, or that it's 100% bad, but if your goals are to be huge and jacked, I suggest not prioritizing it until it's time to get cut. Adding cardio back in for a cut after awhile of not doing it is amazing for body comp. But why spend recovery/lifting time on it when it's not needed right away? I mean, yes, I get that it's nice to be able to run - but unless you are playing soccer or you need to run, why put energy into it? Even if you want to get your heart rate up, I prefer walking briskly or doing lots of volume on weights. Please read this: http://www.jimwendler.com/2011/09/time-to-man-up/

im a powerlifter my buddy is a long distance runner. we started playing hockey in a beer league by my house.
who do you think has legs in the third period?
the powerlifter who sucks at long distance running.
"in shape" is a relative term. if I ran a 3 miler with him he'd smoke me. if we ran a 40 yard dash i'd beat him. who's in better "shape"?

lol at people looking like holocaust survivors and thinking they are "in shape". srs running 30 miles a day on nothing but kale juice is not healthy brahs. People need to find a balance between aesthetics, function, and health.

Without copy and pasting a large scientific definition, I would just simply say I'm referring to being strong enough and having a CVS strong enough to save your own life. To climb over something, to be able to pull up your own weight, climb up ****, do burpees, handle your own weight in an obstacle course. The ability to perform all types of physical work, at all levels of intensity. You're looking too far into it, trying to create an argument lol

Conclusion Muscular strength is inversely and independently associated with death from all causes and cancer in men, even after adjusting for cardiorespiratory fitness and other potential confounders.

So basically anyone that has hit the gym for more than three months? I know someone basically at 35% bodyfat at my gym who can do pullups with ease
The only person looking too far into it is you when you insult bodybuilders with this "function strength" bs
Most the functions you stated are basically useless in everyday life anyways
