Correlation between DOMS and caloric deficit?

I never get sore untill about 4 weeks into this cut. Besides a caloric deficit and fewer carbs am I missing something in my nutrition? Is it just coincidence I'm getting sore now as I'm losing weight?

Your ability to recover will be compromised when you cut calories. The extent of your deficit will generally dictate how hard it will be for you to recover.

Have you got any recovery strategies in place?

    What is your deficit like?

Have you reduced volume in your workouts? Or have you lowered intensity (amount of weight lifted)? What is your routine like currently?

I have not taken any action in recovery. I'm at a 500 cal deficit on training days 6 days a week. So far I have not reduced any volume or intensity despite feeling more fatigue. Strength has dropped slightly, heavy lifts getting 7 reps instead of 10 reps on heaviest sets as an example.

I would personally suspect that it is just a coincidence. DOMS seems most affected by adaption to certain movements, not diet or other factors.

Ok because literally nothing has changed with my split or volume. Trying to maintain strength and reps. Still eating 1gram of protein per lb of body weight.
