    Combining post-workout formula with protein

So, here's the deal: about 2 months ago I started doing Crossfit, and I love it. I go about 5 times a week. Since then I've started taking protein and pre-/post-workout supplements... but I'm still new to this, so forgive my ignorance. I've taken a liking to Muscle Pharm, specifically their Assault protein powder. I've noticed that when I mix the Vanilla protein powder with their orange-mango Re-con recovery formula, it tastes really good. Usually I just mix one scoop of both in 20oz. Of water immediate after my workout. So here's my question: is it ok for me to mix protein powder and the formula and consume them so soon after my workout, or do I need to split the two up? Thanks.

If thats how you prefer to take them both then thats fine.

With that being said, I did just want to make sure you know that protein powder is NOT specifically necessary post workout. The whole purpose of protein powder is to help you hit your macros if you cannot through whole foods. If you need that protein powder to hit your macros and post workout is most convenient for you there isn't anything wrong with that at all.

You can dose it like that if you want, as Recon is mainly a amino acid + carb formula.

Absolutely nothing wrong with doing it that way. The only thing you really have to worry about when mixing things together. Is paying attention to the ingredients that are the same in both so you don't over do the amount you are taking. For instance, taking 2 different products with creatine in it or caffeine in both products. Doing this could make you take more than the recommended dose. Then you could be just wasting your money. Good luck

It is fine doing it like that. If in the future you aren't using vanilla, taste may become an issue.

OP I have done that in the past with a few flavors, but the Orange-Mango and Vanilla taste like an orange creamsicle. Great way to supplement both products and get in the full benefits of both protein, carbs, and post workout BCAA's. Hope it is working out well for you and if you have any additional questions feel free to ask or PM me!

Mixing flavors is fun, because you could come up with a new cool combination.

My personal favorite is mixing RecoverPro Red Raspberry BCAA drink with any Chocolate Whey protein. Raspberry Chocolate mix is awesome, like liquids chocolate candy.

    Check it out here

Also PM me or email me for RecoverPro samples.
