    Leg Curl Alternative

Hey Workout Equipment! I have a question for you guys about doing leg curls. I lift in my basement so I don't have much room and I wanted to see if there was anything I could place around my ankles to use plates for leg curls. I figured I could just lay down flat on the bench once I figure out how to get the plates around my ankles.

    Thanks guys!

Leg curls are a hamstring exercise. There are many others.

I suggest either Straight legged deadlifts or Romanian deadlifts.

If you have some dumbbells, try these; they're actually much more difficult than they look, and will really work your hams from the knee:

I tried those once. They sucked. By which I mean they really hurt, I couldn't do much weight and the left my hamstrings fried.

So. . . . that was a good thing, right?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Agree with Stasher1. Reps for something I have not seen before and can't wait to try next leg day.

And I'll remention the Romanian deadlifts that Wildtim mentioned. I can definitely feel those in my hamstrings, both during the workout and after. I'm actually doing those instead of GHRs at the moment, which isn't to badmouth GHRs at all; I'm just mixing it up (and doing some additional lower back exercising at the same time). RDLs and those lying leg curl things probably would complement each other well since one's mostly hitting the hip side, and the other the knee side, and you want to hit both if I understand correctly (I'm not exactly an exercise expert).
