    What is the single healthiest food (if you had to choose only one)?

    Hello all,

    Let's say for hypothetical reasons, you could only pick one food to eat for the next three days to 1 week,
    Which food would be the most nutritious, the one that would least cause nutritional deficiencies?

    I would say a basic carbohydrate like:
    - Rice
    - Pasta
    - Oatmeal

    Because although some vegetables are really nutritious, you could not actually live on it for 3 days (not enough energy content).

    So what food would you pick as the healthiest and most nutritionally fulfilling for the body, the one with the most bang for your buck nutritionally?
    You can also give me a top 3.

    Interesting food for thought.

    I see alot of protein here and there...Would you say that it would be better to eat protein rather than carbs (oatmeal, pasta, etc...) if you had to pick one?
    I thought that human bodies were more vegetarian than carnivorous, as such would need the carbs more.
    PS: This doesn't apply to people who mentioned eating it with carbs.

    I think that if you eat only meat/fish, it will be hard to digest, but am unsure. With the exception of eggs which I think are easy to digest.

    I would say some sort of very easily digestible carbohydrate like porridge or oats is best.
    Or veggies but eaten in enough quantity so you get your needed calorie intake without starving.

    My vote goes for Omega-3 Eggs.

    Almost purely consists of fats and protein, the 2 essential macronutrients
    ^ contains the EFA, EPA/DHA, and is a complete source of protein

    Has a ridiculous variety of micronutrients
    ^ it may be low in some, but variety nonetheless, (and if this were you're only food, thats a big deal)

    If only it had fiber, this wouldn't even be a competition
