all calculations were performed with decimals shortened to 6 places after:
volume of container is roughly 345.013796 ci
volume of each 1" diameter sphere is 0.523599 ci
gives us 658.928 spheres in that container, but that is with an impossible 100% packing efficiency. with an estimated 64% packing efficiency (standard for loosely packed spheres in any given container)
658.928 * 0.64 = 421.7
