The first season is about PJs. It was pretty cool to see the same area I was in
but the second season is about some air force security force unit protecting bagram. im like wtf the whole show

As a back seater crewchief, not a pilot unfortunately, I always felt the risk of being hit by AA fire or missiles was far less than hitting wires or being in small arms range.

But, really they wouldn't hear us that low until it was too late. And it's much more fun.

2 sloots man. One pretty good at her job and I'm friends with her, but still have tons more experience. The other is 18 and has worked in the field for 6 months. So much fukery.

Yeah, it's kind of cool but kind of gay.

A typical epside goes like this.
#1. Shows very quick clips like chit is really really hitting the fan.
#2. Goes to commercial.
#3. Shows some guy at fob talking about the war or back home.
#4. "Leeeeeroooooooy uhjhhhhheeeeenkiiiiiiiins" everyone scrambles.
#5. Commercial break
#6. Show again the guys at the fob, then the leeerooooy again (because filling airtime with footage shown 3 minutes ago is fun)
#7. Show the TOC guys staring at blurred out screens, waiting for the rest of the 9 line.
#8. Show birds spinning up/taking off. Narrator explains what a 9 line is. Narrator acts like they are going into pure hell.
#9. Show in flight footage, try to create more sudden drama with quick clips which makes it look like the world is going to end.
#10. Commercial.
#11. Back from commercial, better replay the last 60 seconds of footage before the commercial break.
#12. Bird lands
#13. Sweep for IEDs...."WeeeOOp...WeeeeeOOooOooP" "The landing site is clear"
#14. All kinds of confusion and fuhckery at the LZ.
#15. Commercial and standard 60 second reply of footage.
#16. Patients loaded, birds in the air.
#17. "THE PATIENT WILL DIE WITHOUT AN IV AND A BLOOD TRANSFUSION!!!!!!"
#18. Narrator acts like giving an IV is difficult and that getting the IV in is the most critical part of care....Finally, after like 5 minutes of talk about IVs the PJ gets it in.
#19. Drop patient off, go help at hospital.
#20. 5 minutes worth of the PJs talking about home and their tricare-a-trops and dependa back home.
#21. Clips of next weeks show, once again trying to make it look like it's going to be sooooooo exciting and dangerous.

In other news. I'm down in Iowa, legally distilling alcohol (making rum) this week.

My contract is three years active duty and then the rest of the time I was suppose to be IRR.
I switched to active reserves voluntary.

Does anybody know or know anybody who has switched back to IRR?

depends on the environment but generally flying nap of the earth is safer/harder to detect. It's a constant change of altitude and airspeed versus flying at like 1000 AGL so someone can spot you with ease.
