I've made a few "friends" on here but to be honest haven't talked to any of them. I'd like to change that and make some actual friends on here so I can get the support I need that I don't get from my real life friends. Post in here and we will chat it up.

No one? Ok I guess I'll start.
I starts lifting around 8th grade for football and in high school for track. I spent the first couple of years spinning my wheels with bad information and little to no knowledge about nutrition. Fast forward a few years and I'm stil doing the same pointless crap and not gaining any real weight. (I still haven't but I'm learning). I would work out consistently for about six months, make progress, then stop for whatever bs reason and lose everything. I'd hate to imagine where I'd be if I kept going. I lost motivation. When I started looking at bb.com I would always go to the "we mirin" pictures and fitboard stuff for motivation and browse threads but its not the same as having legit friends who are into lifting. Not the "show up once a week" kind of friends anyway.

Hello! I'm new...still trying to learn my way around the website. I'm currently 194# at 5'7". I've gained 30# but still a far cry from the 296# I use to be. I wanted to incorporate weight lifting into my exercise regimen and so I joined the community. I struggle with not becoming bored with food choices and I need to develop workout plans. Any words of wisdom would be nice

Hey guys,
I have always been active. Although I was only on Track & Field for my jun and sen yrs in HS, I was always out and about skating or play with the neighborhood kids. Just recently I started to go to the gym consistently. The year has been rough. So much stress and not many people I can talk to about it.
Currently I am at 170 Lbs with 30% BF. My goal is to be around 150 Lbs. I am 26 yrs old and 5'1"

I've just posted another thread along the same lines.
I'm looking to try and expand my friends list with supportive people.
I have just currently fully committed to lifting after a couple of years of inconsistent training & a break due to health reasons. My aim is to put on between 20-40lbs of muscle, as much as I can naturally & then make my physique as aesthetic as possible. Although I will never be over 200lbs or compete as a bodybuilder, there is no reason I cannot strive to reach my full potential.Maximum Lifts
Squat = 154lbs 5RM (ATG) | Goal = 176lbs 5RM
Deadlift = 253lbs 3RM / 275lb 1RM | Goal = 2x BW 5RM (On Hold whilst doing AllPro)
Bench Press = 110lbs 5RM | Goal = 1x BW 5RM

hey guys, saw the friend thread and thought i'd add to it. my fitness journey has been a learning experience for sure. i was never too involved in sports in high school though i played a few here and there growing up. never had a gym membership until two years ago and now i'm completely in love with working out and going to the gym, though i do have my off days where i'm just not feeling it. i am constantly searching for motivation to keep me going in my journey for health. i try to eat as clean as possible and definitely no processed foods when i can avoid it. right now my goal is to make it down to 140lbs(currently 168, was 225) and eventually i would like to see what 20% body fat looks like on my frame. right now i incorporate weights, cardio and yoga into my routines and try to mix things up every three weeks.
friend me, message me, watevs lol.

Hey all!! I have been working out since June of this year. Usually 4-5 days a week. I lift weights only, no cardio. For my nutrition I follow IIFYM. I like not feeling so restricted. So far I am down 30lbs from this set up.
Slow progress is still progress. This isn't a 90 day program where it is succeed or fail. Keep pushing yourself to be better today than yesterday.
Cheers,
Brandon

hi, i'm new to the website and to working out and im looking forward to making friends with the same goal of living healthy.
I'm currently on the second week of Jamie Easons live fit trainer and im loving it so far, but i can get bored easily and stop doing it, that's why i want to get more involved in making it a way of life instead of just losing weight.
I'm at 152 with 26% BF and my goal is 128 with 16%

Welcome to all the new people! This is definitely a great place for motivation.
Make sure you're commenting on other people's status and things like that. You'd be surprised how much a "good job" can motivate someone.
Also try to keep your body space updated so we can keep track of your progress or give you a kick in the ass if you need it.
Smash those barriers people!!!

Now i made the biggest change that is believing in me and that i can live a healthy life style. I'm still beginning my transformation so i have a long way to go but motivational youtube videos always help haha :P

Hey, I started lifting this past January and I was around 145lbs I was at 165 or so in August, but went into the hospital for one thing, but stayed in for a couple months for cancer treatment. That took away all the progress I made, but I am getting better now and recovering and I am hoping to start lifting again in January of 2014. Until then I am just going to enjoy life and eat everything I can and not care about the weight and once the new year comes around I am going to go into beast mode.

Don't get hung up in the numbers on a scale. Weight is a subjective measurement and just because the number isn't going down, or even goes up, doesn't mean that progress isn't being made. Think about how much muscle you're putting on, how much body fat you're shedding, how much stronger you're becoming, and how much farther you're running. Adding just one pound of muscle makes you burn around 200 (some say even more, this is a conservative estimate) calories to maintain! Also pay more attention to how you look and how your shape is changing rather than standing on that demotivator!
