Cancer sucks. I sometimes daydream I would win the mega millions and during the press conference I would declare $100 million to the founder of the cure for cancer. Yes I know there are different types but it would be a start.

If someone put a $100 million bounty on the cure for cancer, would it be found?

You have to be kidding.
More than 100 million has easily been donated from charities for cancer research...the amount of investment from professional companies will be even higher.
The reason we haven't found a cure is because there isn't one, cancer is part of our makeup. Without cancer, we could not have evolved from cells into complex life.

Pfft! 100 million? Do you realize how miniscule that number is compared to how much money is raked in for donations to research, treatment, etc?
There is no money to be made in a cure. The money is made in perpetual treatment and management pharmaceuticals.
Cancer is much more complex than that. There is no single cause and there are many different types.***Canadian Crew***

I dont think there will
Be a single cure.
There are many combinations of treatments that are incrimentaly getting better.
I believe it will be a gradient to cures, eventually methods will get better and better until we realise cancer can more or less be defeated.

I don't see the point in curing it. What ever comes after cancer will be infinately more devastating, and harder to treat. What's the point on living longer if you spend it all on chemotherapy which strips you of any standard of living. If I had cancer, I would rather live 1-3 years happy ignorant of it before dropping dead quickly, than spend the next 2 decades pumping myself full of drugs that destroy my entire body and make me live in agony.

Then why does anything get cured?
That can be said about any illness or disease, yet science still progresses, and better cures and treatments continue to pump out.
And absolutely there is money in a final cure for cancer.
Cancer will never go away even with a cure, there will always be people needing treatment.-Guitar Shredders Crew-

there is no singular "cure for cancer"

A good point has been made before that many, if not most treatment advances in the medical field have been made by completely unrelated sciences/studies.
There is probably a better chance in finding a cure if you spend thy 100 mil on random reaserch that has seemingly nothing to do with cancer reaserch.
So many advances come from accidents/crossing science fields-Guitar Shredders Crew-
