I was wondering if people count calories, or just count macros when doing keto or for me low carb high fat.
I read in many places to just eat until you are not hungry, if I do that I generally eat to my TDEE. Some sources I read said due to hormonal changes you will lose weight eating more calories on low carb than high carb.
I got myfitnesspal(DOT)com/food/diary/Lawrencep93 where I track stuff. (still don't have 50 posts grr)
Just wondering if I should worry about sticking to a deficit, or just eat till I am full and track carbs and protein?
Also I think I physiologically over eat, because my stomach is full but my brain wants food.

I keep track of everything, just to keep myself constant and to really make sure i'm eating enough to reach my goals. Im trying to bulk slowly, and if I didn't track I would easily under eat because I am rarely hungry. I would recommend either track everything (or atleast "account" for stuff in my fitness pal, estimates and such) and keep it roughly constant on a weekly basis and see where that gets you on your goal. Or you can choose to not track yourself, eat to feeling and watch where it gets you on your goal. If your happy with what you see with either one a few weeks in, keep doing what your doing. But if your not, either cut back or if doing the second option, start tracking and find out what you are eating on average, and systematically lower your intake at that point.
In all honesty I physiologically over eat as well...but its usually things like vegetables and Huge salads because I FREAKING LOVE them... and in all honesty it wont hinder me much seeing as im not trying to lose lots of fat, but slowly bulk.
Just do what you want, if it works for you, Great! but if its not getting you where you want to be or at the rate you want, just do a re- or deeper evaluation.

Not exactly because I am counting carbs and protein to not hit maximums, but have unlimited fat.
So I could easily do:
Carbs: 25g
Protein: 120g
Fat: 70g
Or
Carbs: 25g
Protein: 120g
Fat: 200g
Both have massive differences in total calories.
Lot's of people say just keep the right number of protein and carbs low, and then our body will adjust to burning more or less.Last edited by lawrencep93; 10-24-2013 at 06:35 PM.
