No time to make a meal so I just have a shake crew?

I work out at 5am when the gym opens, I am there to roughly 6:40am, I make it back home around 6:50am.. Just enough time to shower, get dressed, and have a shake before I leave out my apartment around 7:20am to catch the train to work at 7:30am.. Having a shake is just more convenient for me at the moment. I would just have a meal post workout when I trained after work though

Presently not doing shakes to see if it effects digestion or overall feeling after workout. It fits into wanting to eat whole foods as much as possible. So far like it. Still throw a little whey into my oats tho. Advice from this forum that so far has proven useful. Who knew!

Hahahahah you guys got me crackin up at work. I wish I wasn't on BB Mobile or use chime in on all your quotes. I'll save it for later. I like the above post about drinkin a shake while making a postworkout meal. I do that too sometimes if I feel I'm low on pros for the day. No more than a scoop tho. Scoop and a half max.

no shakes here. Im doin the gallon of whole milk a day thing. post workout could be anything from eggs and toast to pbj. I like to do mixed protein sources when ever possible. Always with about 12-20 oz whole milk.
I think, when I start cutting, I might start using hydro whey to boost my metabolism.

Kinda. 4, sometimes 5 meals. depends really. Eat when your hungry, eat like a fool.

Your probably right about the whey, but its worked for me before. Like I said its for when I go to cut.

edit, Ive never done the hydo whey before, just regular whey before. I'd only hit it 1st thing in the morning

It doesn't matter when you consume it. It does not have some magical metabolic enhancing property.

I still have a shake after training I know that is blasphemy around here, it's just easier to digest and I feel better after training. I don't eat a lot pre-workout, I have a small meal around 2 hours before training as I find I perform best in the gym that way, if I do a heavy meal or fasted training I don't perform as well. It's all personal preference.
I train fasted and consume a shake after I lift. It works for me. About 1 1/2 hours after the gym I'm ready for some solid food.

My post workout shake does consist of 1 scoop of carb/protein blend - but the rest is a banana, mixed berries, and chocolate milk. I find liquid form easier to handle, but about an hour or so later I have dinner anyways.

Right, but that's all it is, a theory.
As opposed to the information I've provided being backed by research/current literature.
You're entitled to believe in your theory all you want, I'm not forcing you to change them.
I'm simply providing you information to assist you in making a more informed decision in regards to your nutrition.
How you choose to use it is up to you.

Consuming HydroWhey will not harm nor benefit your body composition results in the grand scheme of things. You could achieve those same results consuming whole food sources of protein.

Then I discovered what science had to say about all this stuff, and I came to realize that, while all these practices would work, none of them were necessary. The stresses and worry caused when I was unable to be compliant were probably hurting my gains.

I'm usually hungry right after training, so I'll cook and then eat a regular meal at that time. Sometimes, I'm not hungry then, so I'll eat later on. I simply make certain to take in all my day's calories/macros/micros by the end of my day.

    No problemo.
