I've never done either before really, I just lift weights to stay in shape....I used to weigh 247lbs and now down to 185lbs but I want to get a six pack like everyone else just because I feel like it would be a good accomplishment. Not sure what my body fat is but I'm about 6 feet and 19.....I eat about 2800 calories a day not including daily exercise and I feel like I stay the same weight or maybe lose a small amount....pretty much need advice on whether to cut or bulk...I like the professional swimmer look haha and thank you

If I cut down to say 10% my muscles would be more defined, but based on what I look like now how would you think they look? I'm just wondering if I'd look scrawny or if I have enough muscle to look somewhat muscular at 10% body fat, essentially why I was wondering between cut vs. bulk
Here's a pic of me flexing, sorry if it's crooked...thanksLast edited by youngm2194; 10-14-2013 at 07:48 PM.

Can someone, based on the pictures I put up, estimate what I would look like if I just cut instead of bulk? Like a picture of an athlete or something that my body type would somewhat look like? That's pretty much my determining factor at this point, what I'd look like if I cut now or later after adding mass

If you like a cut look then lose body fat. I recommend after you get to ~10%, no lower, that you would clean bulk for quite some time but it's your own choice.
Remember: Cutting will make you smaller, bulking will make you bigger.

Well you could do a lean bulk/recomp since it is winter anyway and you will be covered up. Go for 2-3 pounds a month, lift heavy and very intensely, get on a structured routine to ensure strength is gained, do some cardio, hit abs and eat 100-200 cals above maintenance. Once March hits you can start cutting if you are happy. You have a pretty good upper body but I'd say work more triceps, traps, chest and abs like I have said. Good luck bro.

Here's more pics and what I looked like 2 years ago-247lbs, 60lbs ago, idk if I still look like 15% body fat in these, not sure....but I might just stay around maintenance up and down randomly for a few months to see how far I get since I haven't consistently consistently lifted for that long...normally I lift consistently for like 2 weeks but doesn't last long. (I'm on the right btw haha)
