Decided to go dual screen. Not amazing but i like it. Just can't decide weather or not i prefer the second monitor running off the laptop or the PC. Think i probably prefer it running off the pc.Last edited by Rows4lyfe; 05-18-2014 at 07:22 PM.

Guys what CPU would you suggest for a modest build for primarily simple home/desktop use? Ive got a gaming rig configured, but need to build another for the family for browsing, itunes, movies etc. Thanks!

I assume you're going to be running Windows with this? I only ask because I'm going to suggest an AMD APU (integrated graphics + cpu) and the driver with those can be fussy on alternative OS's.
I really, really think that the A8-6600k is a great value for a basic desktop setup right now. It's quad core, and also comes with a pretty solid integrated graphics chip. Plus, the power consumption is reasonable at 100w and it's only ~$100.480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

Would definitely look at the A8-6600k then. The HD 8570D that's on the chip should do a better job than any motherboard integrated graphics solution, and the driver is super simple to install with Win 7. The CPU is also very adaquate for anything but gaming use. I'm happy with mine, to be sure.
The board I use with it is the Asus A88XM-A, for reference. Good value board as well.480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

If you aren't gaming, there is no sense in dumping much cash on a video card. Either get an APU like the 6600k that has the GPU on the CPU chip, or get a basic quad-core processor and a HD6450. I don't know if you can still find them, but the Phenom X4 965 was one of my favorites and still uses the AM3+ socket.
How about:
Asus M5A78 board (~$65)
Phenom X4 965 ($100) or FX-6300 ($120)
HD6450 GPU ($50)480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

Contemplating a new build, but CPU prices fluctuate a bit too much these days for my liking.
Just yesterday 4770k was $300. Today it's $340 everywhere.
