Looking at...
2003-2006 Dodge Viper
2008+ e90/e92 M3
2008+ Lexus IS-F
Anything else I should consider?
M3/Viper will be a weekend/fun car, have a DD. With IS-F it will be daily driver because it is reliable and current DD will be traded in, so, M3/Viper more expensue, Lexus less expensue, WHAT do
Maybe I give reps

I had an 2001 and 2004 viper. There are some pretty big differences in the cars you posted. What are you planning on doing with the cars?
Tracking? Weekend Cruise?
What part of CT are you in?
Im in Fairfield.
I also had a 99 m3 that was very reliable. A few small things needed attention over the years, but that car was rock solid and very fun to drive. Cant comment on the e90s and above.

I find lexus to be incredibly boring and soul less. Sorry to anyone who has a lexus; just my opinion.
Both cars are really so different its tough to say which one you should buy. This is really going to come down to your opinion. Drive both and get a feel for each. The viper is a brute and requires quite a bit of skill to drive well and not crash (no traction control). The M3 is designed extremely well and the fit/finish will trump the viper in almost every category, but wont leave anyone feeling blown away. Youll remember a drive in a viper, not so much an M3.
If your having trouble deciding...why not look into a 996TT. Its kind of a blend between both cars and is somewhat in your price range.

996TT is kinda out of my range, maybe next year when I can spend $65k+.
I was thinking Viper and keeping my Acura for DD, just more expensive then getting an IS-F which apparently is "soul less".
I know its a dodge but it is supposedly the most reliable entrly level exotic car you can buy.
Reliability is always a concern for me, i know the isf and m3 are in a different category so its just about taking that step into exotic category.Bench - 340

The viper is pretty bullet proof. The only two things I ever changed on both cars was the oil and tires. I spent a lot of time on viperclub and viperalley and went to a few of their rallys. It was a blast and having talked to many other owners before buying most agreed its one of the most reliable semi-exotic cars out there.

Ive seen quite a few 996TTs exchange hands for mid 40s....could be a bitch to maintain. Some guys say theyre bullet proof and others arent so lucky.

I would buy a Corvette. I owned a Corvette and it was very fast and very drivable even in less than ideal conditions.
BTW, I am sure the Viper is in the same price ballpark, but when I needed to change 4 tires and put on rear brakes on my Vette the dealership charged close to $3000. Everything costs more than what it would cost on a Honda.
