Bros, I'm no where near an addict, but i feel myself heading that direction. I'm pretty mature and intelligent for my age, I think before I act, usually I do not let others directly influence me and rarely do I not fully comprehend situations I may face. However, sometimes I can get a head of myself.. start thinking that there's nothing to worry about - so I do stupid ****. Started smoking weed (even though I was running at the time) and to be fair, can honestly say it hasn't affected me much at all, no differences in stamina or bodily functions. Don't get me wrong, if I continue it will, i'm not THAT dumb, I just do stuff in the heat of the moment, the most I had was 3 'spliffs' in a week, so not much, this carried on for about 4 weeks, (maybe one or two spliffs a week). Okay, I'l admit, the high is great, I love it, but i'm not addicted to it, I could probably say no to one if it was 'necessary' but I would sure as hell like one, I mean I wouldn't say no if someone had one - but I'd rather hit the GYM instead, you get what I'm saying? We all know it's a 'gateway' drug and it's true, it's making me want to 'explore' more.. always told myself as a kid I wouldn't ever smoke, it's dirty, blah blah, but i'm starting to 'feel it'. Obviously i'm not going to 'explore' but I got that urge.. the main reason I do it is to 'occupy' myself, I used to go out 24/7, hang with mates. It's all stopped now, i've become a recluse and I stay home all day (because I've become self-conscious of my body). But i feel myself getting more bored daily and I'm afraid bore-dome will take it's toll.. Just don't want to end up as a kid with problems.. better I prevent it now, if anything. Anyways I'd like to know some effective methods to stop bore-dome, this will help with me to stop snacking as well.. help me on my cut. Thanks bros and good luck with solving your own problems. x

Imo, if frequency of use is increasing. For instance if you take ******** a month apart, then twice a month, then every week, then three times a week, then every day, over a long period of time, you're addicted. If you took it, took it again a month later, took it again two months later, again a week later, and again a month later, probably not

LOL at people claiming weed addiction and calling it a gateway drug. Trying one drug doesn't mean your willing to try another with a completely different effect and trying a drug that is harmless doesn't mean your willing to try a potential harmful one. If you think your addicted to weed, bottom line is you think being a junky is cool but are too pussy to try an actual drug. weed is harmless and people need to stop giving it a bad name, people like you are the ones spreading all the misinformation.
-Doesn't kill brain cells, studies suggest it protects them (but obviously those dont get published)
-Not a gateway drug
-Has killed no1 in the history of mankind
-Does NOT cause any form of mental illness whatsoever (can worsen pre-existing conditions)
-Does NOT make you lazy
-Does NOT cause cancer (slightly harmful to lungs only due to the physical properties of smoke)
plz educate yourselves u fkn sheep

Well, last night was a new low. I've been toking on and off for 4.5 years and am currently a senior in high school. In the beginning of June, I got a arrested for smoking in public. I got a contract for dismissal, which means that the charges will be dismissed soon.
Well, last night was my the night of my school's Homecoming dance. I had asked a girl and she said she had other plans... she went. That was a huge shot to my confidence, and I didn't ask another girl. I don't really know why.
Last night, I had plans to show up stag, but I didn't have the courage. At that point, I had already smoked 4 joints spread out over that day, so I was somewhere between buzzed and stoned for the majority of the day. I would have shown up alone, then almost certainly left alone. I sent my friend a text telling him to have a good time, then I played my guitar, feeling incredibly lonely.
Yeah... last night was a low.
EDIT: This is on top of one joint Thursday night and two Friday.Last edited by DragonSlayer45; 09-21-2014 at 02:47 PM.

Former drug addict here
2 months clean from all sorts of drugs
All I can say, is you wont see a change unless you really want to change. No one can force you to do something different with your life, it must come from within. You must find the power and will to do so. Do you want to be held by an anchor in the same brutal cycle your whole life? Or do you want to go somewhere and aspire for the good things life has to offer? There are so many things for you to experience other than mind altering drugs. I see it as a journey I adventured on in that time of my life. I got the experience of partying and drugs, now im beyond that onto other adventures. Life is an adventure. Enjoy it as you will
Also if anyone smokes cigarettes, quit. I used to be addicted to those as well. I quit cold turkey and started vaping as an alternative and I will never smoke a cigarette again. You get the same satisfaction of a cigarette minus the harmfulness and terrible smell.
I will be more open if interested

Ex hardcore heroin addict here, I used to wrestle at a D1 college and got prescribed mad amounts of Oxy when I hurt my rib. I fell in love with the Oxy and eventually the script ran out so I started selling heroin for VERY nasty people to support my habit (I had switched to heroin by then, stronger and cheaper than Oxy) and during that time I saw many people die from overdose or murder and I had some horrible adventures. After a myriad of ****ed up experiences and many relapses I finally decided that enough was enough, I was tired of walking on the razor's edge so after my last deepest rock bottom I went and got help (detoxed, got on suboxone maintenance and saw/see a therapist). I am extremely thankful for my MMA (I used to fight both in MMA and Muay Thai kickboxing at a national and international level) and lifting, as I believe that they are a key component in keeping me sober.
The reason I wanted to provide a quick snapshot of my addiction and recovery story is because I wanted to say that I have a lot of experience in this field (unfortunately) and I want to offer my help with any kind of addiction/recovery stuff to anyone who wants/needs it, it is a horrible thing and nobody should go through it alone.
