Yes I had a very extensive surgery on my nose when I was 16. I had a little cleft on the tip and when they opened my nose up (open-rhinoplasty) there was something wrong with the bone structure, so they had to break the bridge of my nose to fix the problem as well as build a new tip using excess bone from the break.
At the time I was playing basketball competitively as well as training in judo and lifting. I was out of the gym for six weeks and able to go on short walks by the third week. You have to be extremely cautious and do
exactly as the surgeon says to ensure a full recovery.
Do not rush the process as it could disrupt the clotting process as well as your stitches and various other things.
As far as eating is concerned, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Just don't try to eat a burger or something lol.
I was on pain killers for about three weeks and they worked great. Barely any pain. Make sure to take them at the right time continuously; don't wait for the pain to creep up. Depending on the specifics of your operation you should expect your nose to still be pretty sensitive 4-5+ months after the surgery. I have a little permanent numbing on the tip of my nose but it's nothing distracting.
If you have any other questions feel free to PM me and I'll do the best I can to answer. Make sure you also run these questions by your surgeon as every case is different.
Oh, little tip - don't pick at dried blood or pull on any stitches. I was very tempted, and they can be VERY annoying... but trust me, it's not worth it lol.
