Question though, how do you guys plan to bring up Shawn's back/delts/chest to really start pushing Heath and the other top 3 guys or do you feel that there are other areas of concern?

Just gotta keep training hard. He brought all of those parts up this year and was 15lbs heavier on stage with the same small waist and condition so we just have to keep going. just takes time

Shawn is my favorite mr o contender. IMHO he looks absolutely amazing in all front/side poses. Such a pleasing physique. I fear he may never be able to win the mr olympia because of his lats.

That a little much. I dont think Shawn would look good that big, he would lose his lines. needs some more muscle but without sacrificing his best feature.

it was close this year but I think wolf just out-muscled him basically. some more size in his chest upper torso area and keep bringing that back up.

I wouldnt say because of his lats. Phil isnt any wider than Shawn but he has more thickness and density in his muscles which is why he blew everyone away. kai and Dennis are much wider than Phil but they lack the detail and density that Phil has.

I believe phil is maxed out but you can tell Shawn still has a lot of room to grow. I'm excited to see him become Mr. O one day

Shawn's lats appear to me to lack mass in the lower portion. It looks like the muscle belly of his lat is simply not very full - therefore it will be very hard to improve on. However I'm just a nobody and you are clearly ten million times more competent to make the assessment of where the issue lies. And what you are saying about thickness and density makes perfect sense and is really Phil's strength.

I truly find Shawn's physique more aesthetically pleasing than Wolf, Kai and Phil's and if you continue to work with Shawn and you guys manage to pack on a bit more thickness and density as you call it - then it's not unlikely for Shawn to win the mr o at all.

Wow, it's ridiculous how his legs blow up. They go from looking ok to completely ridiculous in a matter of a few weeks. And that waist! Dear god!

thanks for the pics big ron! cool to see his conditioning leading up to the O. actually i think he was in a bit better conditioning this year. he was definitely dryer. it's amazing he only dropped one spot with such a stacked line up (personally i would have placed him in 3rd). you guys are doing a superb job over there with him.

edit: def one of the best front double biceps in the biz right now. beautiful.

i think these two qualities should be most important in judging.

been a huge rhoden fan before he even stepped on the olympia stage, glad you brought him under your wing and company

I understand how you could see that but there is definitely room to grow there. Remember Shawn was out of the sport for a long time so he still has yet to reach some of that muscle maturity that Phil has. we'll see what happens!

bodybuilding is all about illusion. his legs probably didnt get much bigger during that progression but because of the condition they were in they look a lot bigger.
