Question What is deloading and when should I deload?

Hey guys, lately my lifts havent gone up on most of the main lifts such as bench press, squats, military press and barbell rows, and for example, my lateral ligaments on my left knee had an inflammation (but the doctor said my meniscus were all fine ), anyways, my father who used to be a lifter and the gym owner told me that I should to some doloading, both of them told me to start working with pyramidal sets, instead of the 5x5 (ICF).
My question is: when should I start deloading and what is basically "deloading"?, by the way, will this help me improve my strength??

    Thanks

A reset would probably help you more than a deload.

When you've been training heavy and hard for like 3-4 months and you start feeling physically and mentally exhausted with injuries appearing everywhere it's time to take a week off or reduce your weights for a week to give your time to recover.

Just decrease your lifts by 20% and work your way back up from there.
