Missed the last weigh in, but I am 180.1 lbs now. Started doing this 100 consecutive push ups in 7 weeks program. Feeling the improvements already.

Weighed in at 197.7 lbs this morning, which means 0.5 lbs up from last weekend and considering how I messed up this past week I can be grateful there has not been more gain. Stupid me. But I will do my best to get back on track.
Here is to a successful weightloss week ahead for everyone, lets keep going!

Thanks guys!
At the time with this person it was surprising...but thinking about it - they can be a little competitive and we were both talking about getting weights and getting in shape at the same time. I bought some and started training and losing weight...and they just kept talking about it. 6 weeks in and my body changes, as well as outlook, are noticeable...I should have seen it coming.
It's a terrible shame - but, I think you're right...just keep my mouth zippered about it all and do my thing.
I suppose the positive side is that you see another facet of people...get to know them that little bit more.

First test day of All Pros! I feel like I am going to puke, but i'm happy to say that I passed all but squat. Even then, i'm 100% sure I would have passed but I forgot to eat this AM before lifting and I got so light headed that I needed to lay down in between sets. Got 12 on the first work set and only 8 on the second before literally started to pass out. I'm going to re-test it on Wednesday.
Feels great actually getting stronger and seeing objective results. No way could I have done 12 reps of that much weight just a few weeks ago.
Its just how it goes. I can recall at least 3 or 4 stories on this forum alone of obese couples actually getting divorced after one of them lost the weight. Of course I'm sure they had other issues to start, but it shows how powerful it is. Most people in our society are overweight (more so for us in the US) and I think the only way people deal with it is just by trying to accept it as normal. When someone shows you that you have the power to change, its a hard reality check.
Hell, my buddy that stayed with my wife and I for a few months is a gym rat and I remember talking down to him about it (with a beer in one hand and a cig in the other). He was actually a big catalyst for me getting off my ass; it made me question whether or not this new normal was ok. Its not.Last edited by chevy72blu; 11-04-2013 at 07:18 AM.

Finally settled on a gym and found a new "home". Decided to join MetroFlex and couldn't be happier. My body says otherwise right now as I was taken to my breaking point today. I was a bit intimidated by the other guys in this gym, but as I went about my trainer session, that started to slip away.
Got a good mark on my current meal plan from the trainer ( printed out my last 2 weeks from myfitnesspal to show them ) with a few little tweaks- need more veggies. Looking forward to lots of time there and getting to my goals.OBF 2014 Winter Transformation Challenge 4th Place finish...

About to start week 5 of C25K which I just realized is WAY different than the others in that you don't do the same workout 3 times.....
#1 Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:
Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
#2 Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:
Jog 3/4 mile (or 8 minutes)
Walk 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
Jog 3/4 mile (or 8 minutes)
#3 Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then jog two miles (or 20 minutes) with no walking.
Gawd.
How is everyone doing this week? Who's still with us?

Wow, sounds pretty intense. I plan on holding off on C25k while doing All Pros... I just dont think it would allow for adequate recovery time training legs 3x/week.
I've decided to ditch my scale and rely on measurements/pictures. I made a post about it on the Nov.1 comp. No more weigh ins for me for a while. The scale is just too frustrating.

I'm here!!!
Had a very heavy cold all week so things are out of whack - I've stuck to my diet plan, so no fears there...but I'm up a couple of pounds, I guess of water...it'll be interesting to see if balance is restored by the weekend.
I had to delay one of my weight sessions by two days...and missed work a few days...but was running a very high fever for a few days - I did think "hmmm - this might work in my favour if this fever keeps up" :-)
One thing that was interesting - I *hated* missing my weight session...*hated* it. There was no way I could have done it but missing it just felt wrong...which is good because it means that the habit is firmly ingrained.

Really sorry on the delay guys! I have not forgotten I literally get 1-2 hours a night before work to do anything right now and I keep forgetting to send the sheet to work so I can do it there.

Slow and steady here.... 263 this week, 1 lb drop since last week. Not surprised, the trainer I met with told me I might see a smaller drop this week, even a possible increase with the changes in my workouts. I'm not looking for a huge, fast drop. As long as I am still on track with my long term goals, I'm all good.
Went to the gym yesterday--- was sore as hell but I had to go. Did a few low weight reps on the legs to help with the soreness then blasted the upper body. Feels good having a great gym to hit.OBF 2014 Winter Transformation Challenge 4th Place finish...

Morning guys!
Weight: 195.1, so a weekly loss of hmmmm 1.2lbs or thereabouts...
I lost the water weight I gained during my cold pretty rapidly.
Interesting week in that I did the least amount of exercise since starting...and still lost over a pound. It really reinforces the fact that it's all about diet...sort that out, and things will happily take care of themselves without the need to worry about doing mad amounts of cardio or even the need to feel hungry.
Hope everyone is good!

Currently sitting at 204.6, which means 3.5lbs gone this week. This also means that I lost 30lbs since I started cutting, but no time to celebrate yet since I'm only halfway into my journey and my ideal weight of 175lbs.
Starting weight 9-1: 235.5lbs
Current weight 7-6: 164.2lbs
Total weight loss: 71.3lbs

It's just easier to left out 400 calories in your diet than doing 1 hour of mindlessly boring cardio. At the same time, I can understand people who prefer cardio instead of eating at deficit. Doing cardio actually feels like you are actively doing something towards your fat loss goal, while calorie deficit seems to be a very passive way, yet very effective one.

Agreed! I think when people reach that point that they decide they want to change - they wanna throw themselves in to it...to *do* something. Sorting your diet out seems passive - and yet also is possibly more scary because it's often a major change.
I think this goes some way to explaining all of those January 1st get-fitters...who resolve to change and then beat their bodies up for a week or two by running an amount far in excess of their training and recovery level...and then quit in frustration.
It's kind of an explosion of energy and motivation rather than a steady focussed beam.

On another frustrating note I was involved in a hit and run accident on Friday. I swear it was a road rage type thing. He was a very reckless driver and I found out from the cop he had already hit someone and nearly ran another off the road before me. Being the tough girl I am, when I realized he was not going to stop to exchange info I went after him lol Mostly just to get his license but i ended up catching him anyway. Seemed high or drunk or something and of course tried to blame me. I reminded him that he needs to go back to driving school, you can't make a left turn from the far right lane. He's lucky I wasn't a semi and we were lucky to just miss hitting a pole.
Regardless now i have pain in my back and headaches, both my daughter and I are hurt. I'm only stopping C25k temporarily until I see a chiropractor. Plan to get right back on the horse but may re-do week 4 depending on how long I'm off.

That makes sense actually. I do cardio because I find it motivating to be in the gym nearly every day and its a good reminder. Do I really want to eat that and undo all that pain I just put myself through?
Ouch... I'm very sorry to hear that. I've been in a few scary road rage situations - the worst of which ended up in a gun being pulled on me. Its a scary world we live in sometimes. I'm very glad you are both home safe, though! The bumps and bruises will heal. Make sure to get your neck and back checked out and as much as I hate to say it, it may be a good idea to contact an attorney before signing anything from the insurance companies. I'm far from a litigious person but the insurance co will do everything they can to get you to sign before knowing if your back issues will linger for a long time. A friend of mine had some permanent damage that he did not address after the accident and signed right away. Now he struggles to afford his pricey physical therapy. Just a cautionary tale.
