Question Should I play running back or a receiver for fooball(spread/shotgun offense)

Our mobile quarterbacks are really good but it seems like on varsity both positions get the ball 50% of the time.

This is also my first year too.. And I don't know witch one I'd be better at. I hate blocking the line/getting jammed by corners though.

I'm 5'8 btw so I can only play slot not wideout.

The coaches don't know either where to put me.

But which do you guys think is more fun?

So...you hate blocking and getting jammed.

RBs and recievers both have to block.
    Only receivers get jammed.
RB may get hit the most out of any position, and slot usually gets hit more than any other receiver.

Since you don't like contact, WR is probably your best bet, by a small margin.

It's more important to be a decent/good blocker as a runningback than being a decent/good blocker as a receiver in 99% of offenses.

Unfourtantly, the spread may be one of the 1%. I'd still do receiver though.

This is the dumbest question I see on here. Don't pick your position let your coach do that if they don't know where to put you tell them you want to go wherever will help the team out the most. We can't see you practice, we have no idea what your team's needs are, what you are best at, or what you suck at and to be honest if you have to ask us you probably really don't know either you just think you do. Who cares what you like or don't like to do in the sport. Its a team sport so you make sacrifices for the team, if your not willing to do your not so favorite things for the team then don't play. Football is like life. You have to make sacrifices and do things you don't enjoy to be successful. You sound like you don't enjoy the physical contact in football, man up and lay somebody out that is 90% of the fun. The other 10% is winning. There is no better feeling in the sport than putting someone flat on their back.

Umm. Sounds like you're in the wrong sport man. You prefer to take a hit, but not give one out.

    Not sure if serious.

If you don't like getting hit or hitting people maybe punter or kicker would be better for you.
