Might not be the best advice, but this is what i did for whatever its worth:
tried to eat at around a 500 cals deficit per day. Some days I was as low as 800-900 cals. VERY low carbs (sub 50 some days. usually 50-100)
Usually took a cheat day or meal once a week. Some weeks I skipped it.
Lifted 6 days
Did cardio/HIIT 3 to 4 times a week (that means gym two-a-days on those days)
Tried to eat 125-150 protons a day

Was underweight growing up. Slowly got fatter in my 20s. A few times i worked out and ate right for a few months at a time and got pretty lean. (looked pretty similar to present after those periods) Always went back to being fat slowly.
Didn't track macros too closely. At first i would just lean VERY clean but as much quantities as I wanted. Later i curtailed quantities too. I worked out Religiously as well. Worked out on days when i was at a huge caloric deficit. Many times twice a day.
Was pretty obsessive about it for a while. Started bulking again recently and gotten a little fatter but not too awful.

At first it FLEW off. Started around 190. Was down to 175ish within a matter of a few weeks. Lost about a couple pounds her week for a while. When i got down to 12% (On the piece of crap monitor)- around 160ish it became very hard to lose more. Slowly got down to about 150. Took around the same time to lose the first 17 as it did the last 2 or 3. ( i think-it's been a little while since I started so I am doing my best to recall)
