Does this enrage me a little? Yes. Does it make me want to say "liberal *******s gonna liberal *******s"? Yes. Am I going to? No. Why? Because it's not her fault or choice, the amount of suffering she will (have) experience(d) isn't something easy that anyone can go through so I doubt she choose this. Most people are still unaware of what really goes on with people with gender dysphoria (trannies). Gender identity is a complex topic and it isn't as simple as "you have a dick, you're a male". Research has started to show that it is possible that brain development and genitalia/gonadal development in response to sex hormones can be dysregulated such that one could have male parts and yet have a female brain.

Since this forum is mostly guys, imagine you were living in a female body but were still mentally male.

The problem is trans people trying to normalise transness when trangenderness is NOT normal.
Trans people deserve basic rights like all other human beings but their interaction when it comes to sex and social hierarchy are markedly different to that of non trans heterosexual people.

This is a generalization, but I always wonder why people respond to controversial topics with: "Who cares?" "Let them do what they want with their lives" "It's not affecting you so why worry" "It's no big deal it's just ____". Sit back a moment and think how many ludicrous laws and accepted practices have come to be... how? Not in one big hit, but GRADUAL precedents... seemingly incidental, minor demands... those minor demands accepted, then become normal. Then more demands are made because: "We were allowed this, so why not that?". Then years, even decades on people are baffled: "Wth happened? How did it ever get to this point?". The fact is, eventually some things CAN interlope and affect you. Maybe not @ it's infancy but down the road if nothing is done it's going to clash with not only you but your society, your country. Forgive the vagueness, but this applies to many topics. So maybe next time don't just brush issues off because that certain minor one isn't directly affecting you... think down the road, take off your blinkers, exercise some foresight.

its impossible to know, social hierarchy is undeniably linked to sex. Trans peoples sexual experience is different to other because they cant have children and for many this is a dealbreaker. Being Trans is a co-factor in determining social hierarchy.

Generally speaking a trans individual is intrinsically of lesser value to society than a straight version of themselves (assumin post-op) because they cant have children. Moreover trans people seem to not serve an evolutionary purpose like homosexuals and so it is difficult to see what a trans person can bring to the table simply for being trans.

When i make value judgments i make them within the context of evolution; i do not believe in morality so i am not making any moral judgments.

Awesome! Finally making progress in terms of social dynamics in the U.S. Yes, the economy is somewhat important, but we need to further ourselves socially before any progress will occur economically. This marks a small step in a long journey that has been repeatedly set back with travesties (George Zimmerman killing a teen, the Tea Party racism, Republican racism, Republican objections to Obamacare). We, especially most of the Misc (white male privilege) need to realize there's far more important things to deal with than the damn economy and saying "Obama herp derp" doesn't solve squat.
