everytime i'm at the grocery store i see about 10 kids in line, 120 lbs, with tight plaid shirts and skin tight khakis and a big beard.

The good thing is, for them its a fad and theyll shave that thing off as soon as its "cool" or however hipsters work. If you rock it long enough it will become part of your character and without it wouldnt seem normal anymore, its certainly gotten to that point for me. None of my buddies would recognize me without it.

Its going to be a little itchy at that length, needs time to grow. Youre at the stage where it will be incredibly easy just to shave it all off, keep at it brah.

i heard a nice coat of olive oil on the beard helps with itchiness, i tried it when i was at this length and i never itched again, hopefully this helps for someone.

With scissors, and shave the neckline with a razor. The trimming is more to ensure that some parts (like the mutton chops) don't overtake the rest in terms of growth and make you look like a window-licking retard.

Mine grows pretty evenly, so all I do is shave the neckline and let nature do the rest

I can confirm, bought some Hollywood Beauty brand olive oil hair treatment and started using it in my beard a couple times a week. Also contains vitamin E and helps to strengthen the hairs against breakage.

I can grow it longer but the hair on one side of my face grows faster than the other side when it gets to a certain length and that bugs the **** out of me. Also, my mustache gets really long pretty quickly, lol. It's annoying when I'm eating and I bite down on my mustache. **** hurts. I prefer to keep it short because it's easier is all. I have had a pretty thick, longish beard a few times though. Nothing like many pictures ITT though.
