    Glutes

Anyone know what can exercises can really increase the glutes. During my lwg workouts i notice that my glutes dont get as worked on as my quads and hamstrings.

The glutes are responsible for the following hip articulations:
    - extension
    - external rotation
    - transverse abduction
    - adduction

The hamstrings are responsible for the following knee articulations:
    - flexion
    - external rotation
    - internal rotation

The hamstrings also assist in hip extension.

The strengthen your glutes/hamstrings, make sure you include an exercise that involves each of the articulations I listed above. A great exercise to hit both the glutes and hamstrings would be the the barbell bent-knee good morning. Of course other other isolation exercises will be beneficial.

i hate to be that guy. but, squats. Also lunges and ummmmm well barbell hip thrusts if you want to directly work them hard.

Yea i didnt feel squats in my glutes until i had someone check out my form. After an adjustment i got a real nice pump in them.

If you want to isolate glutes a little more u can get an ankle strap on a low pulley and do straight leg kick backs. This, however, is quite lady like.

Once I started doing glute activation drills, quadruped hip extensions, x-band walks, glute bridges- I started feeling my glutes more in my other exercises: squats, deadlifts, etc.

I already have bigger glutes than I would like and am trying to get rid of them. I am doing a variation of the exercise Dizzy mentioned but I am not using cables. What I do is high reps of leg lifts, like the ladies do I think, until my butt is on fire. For me, this exercise is taming the beast.
By God's grace, through faith I am saved.

Romanian deads worked for me, you'll feel the contraction like crazy when you thrust back up through the bar.

Nothing beats squats for the glutes, but make sure you're pushing up with your heels and not your toes. That way the focus is on your hams/glutes instead of your knees.
