6th grade. Another teacher runs into classroom "Turn on the tv, any channel."

My teacher turns on the TV and we see the news that one of the twin towers was been hit. He get's out his cell phone (which were not as common, he said he only used it for emergency's) and called his dad.
As he was talking to his dad, the second plane hit. We thought it was a replay at first until we realized what was happening. My teacher was a big dude, and a tough guy, but he started to cry.
He told us we would remember this moment for the rest of our lives.
the weird thing is that at this point NOBODY knew how this happened or who did this horrible act. My teacher went to the chalkboard and wrote "Osama Bin Laden" and "Jihad=Holy War". he told us all to write it down and said that osama bin laden was basically the devil and he was pretty certain Bin Laden was responsible for this act. My teacher was also incredibly racist and told us how bad muslims were, which was one my first exposures to the Islamic religion....

An anouncement came on that teachers had to turn off the tv's. we were upset because we knew something big was happening but we didn't understand the gravity of the situation. I got home to see my mom sitting on the floor crying. I sat next to her and watched the news. Wont forget the one bloody/dusty lady running, crying. Made me cry. Had soccer practice that night and I could tell you every drill we did in order.

It's strange because if you asked me what I did last weekend I can barely remember without having to think very hard about it.

5th grade. had just woken up, parents were watching it and I just thought some planes had an accident and carried on to class. Then I heard my teacher and students talk about it and was like "wtf are you guys talking about". Then it hit me that was an attack


Walked home, saw a chimney (however its spelled) down the block smoking and it kinda freaked me out cause come on its September, its still summer.
Then my bro left me home alone for 10 minutes as he went to the store, again felt freaked out

6th grade for me to OPIE. Came to school at like 8am (PST) hearing all these kids talking about war. didnt know wtf was going on. Sat in the classroom listening to the radio about the whole situation. Finally got home froms school and watched everything on the news with my parents and sister.

Wow Op that gave me goosebumps. I was actually in the air when it happened, from UK to Jamaica. Didn't even know until the next day when we hit the beach for our rumpunch to see everyone in the bar literally sat glued to the Tv Screen. I gotta say the footage of the people jumping from the buildings made me cry. Me and my cousin brought every newspaper we could find and sat in the hotel room blubbering.

hahahaha, I was still in bed, phuq that, I think it was like 6am - 7 am in sydney. Honestly didn't really care because it was somewhere really really far away, it was more of a "wow, dont see that every day".. im sure alot of other non-americans will agree. no disrepect or anything, thats jsut how it is, plus the fact most miscers here were likely kids and didnt understand how serious this actually was, the first half of the day I thought some buildings were on fire then I found out some planes slammed into them
